Good morning, everybody.

We'll get on with committee business. We are going to start with the election of the vice-chair. I have to turn the meeting over to the clerk.

The Clerk of the Committee Ms. Christine Holke David

Pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the second vice-chair must be a member of an opposition party other than the official opposition. I am now prepared to receive a motion for the second vice-chair.

Mr. O'Toole.

Mr. Chair and Madam Clerk, I'd like to nominate Ms. Freeland to be our second vice-chair.

The Clerk

It has been moved by Mr. O'Toole that Madam Freeland be elected as second vice-chair of the committee.

Is it the pleasure of the committee to adopt the motion?

(Motion agreed to)

I declare the motion carried and Ms. Freeland duly elected second vice-chair of the committee.

Thank you.

Congratulations, Ms. Freeland. Of course, Mr. Davies and I are actually going to go for coffee now, so you can take over the chair's position.

No, we'll get on to a little bit of business here today.

As I said, we just want to talk to all the party officials here and do kind of a review. First of all, we had a German delegation, and we'd just like to have some constructive feedback from you with regard to what we could do better, what worked, and what didn't work.

Then Ms. Freeland has a motion she would like to give notice of.

Then, in front of you, you have a list of witnesses for the upcoming study, which will start in January and the first part of February.

Maybe we'll start off with the German delegation. I don't want to spend a lot of time on this. We're just looking for ideas on how we can make those visits better. I will open the floor to whoever would like to speak.

Mr. O'Toole.

Mr. Chair, while we're discussing committee business, I move that we go in camera for such discussions.

All right. We'll suspend for a minute or two so we can go in camera.
