Welcome to meeting number 20 of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Natural Resources.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee is continuing its study of creating a fair and equitable Canadian energy transformation. Today is our fifth meeting with witnesses on this study.

Today’s meeting is taking place in a hybrid format, pursuant to the House order of November 25, 2021. I would like to remind all participants, now that we've started, that there is to be no taking pictures or screenshots. The proceedings are televised and will be made available via the House of Commons website.
I have a few comments before we start. I will recognize you by name before you speak. For those participating by video conference, you will need to click on the microphone icon to activate your microphone. We ask you to mute it when you're not speaking. For those on Zoom, there is an interpretation feature at the bottom of your screen. You have the choice of floor, English or French. We ask that you speak in a conversational tone so that the interpreters can keep up. It makes their day a bit easier. Any comments should come through the chair.
With that, we're studying.... The bells are ringing. For those online, we need unanimous consent. These are only 15-minute bells.
We won't start with opening statements because we need to get back to the chamber. I apologize for that. That's the formality. We'll now suspend until after the votes. There are four votes and each one could take up to 10 minutes or so. That's what we're working against. We'll be back down as quickly as possible. When we do, we will get right into opening statements of five minutes from each of our panellists.
