Protection of Freedom of Conscience Act  Madam Speaker, we are here to discuss Bill C-230, which would amend the Criminal Code to make it an offence to intimidate health care personnel—a medical practitioner, nurse practitioner or anyone who could provide medical assistance in dying. It seeks to create a Criminal Code offence to “protect” health care personnel.

Protection of Freedom of Conscience Act  Thank you, Madam Speaker. Now I feel I can deliver a speech. I want to make one thing clear to the House of Commons. I think this is the appropriate time to point it out, and I think everyone here will agree with me. No one is condoning bullying, be it of health care workers or here in the House.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague for his speech. I would appreciate an answer to my question. As I said in my speech this morning, I am surprised that the Conservative Party does not have more to say about the free market. We know that businesses are charging way too much and that the existence of oligopolies and monopolies has a huge impact on consumers.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague for her comments and question. I think that, unfortunately, this motion is a bad start. There are many problems we need to address, but where are the solutions? I would like to remind our Conservative Party colleagues that real solutions do exist.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, we can all agree on one thing: Alberta should be paying much more.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I thank my hon. colleague for his question. These issues are definitely very important. We are concerned about what is happening with first nations too. In my speech, I talked about how climate change affects homes on first nations reserves that are built on thawing permafrost, on thawing soil.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, we are here to debate a Conservative motion that is interesting, to say the least. I really want the people who are listening to us today to read and understand the wording of this motion. It is very interesting, and I will explain. The motion reads as follows: That, given that the cost of government is driving up inflation, making the price of goods Canadians buy and the interest they pay unaffordable, this House call on the government to commit to no new taxes on gas, groceries, home heating and pay cheques.

National Council for Reconciliation Act  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague for her speech. I would like her thoughts. In Quebec, a commission has already looked into similar issues. There could potentially be some overlap between the work of this council and the work that has already been done by the commission in Quebec.

Cost of Living Relief Act, No. 1  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague for his speech. I would also like to hear his thoughts on the government's bad habit of implementing a policy and then systematically forgetting to coordinate with Quebec. In particular, I would like to hear his thoughts on how a government can claim to govern for all Canadians while forgetting 23% of the population.

National Council for Reconciliation Act  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague for his speech. Although we are in favour of very good relations between indigenous nations and the people of Quebec, we have to wonder why the government has presented a bill that will ultimately only produce recommendations instead of much more meaningful actions, such as addressing the drinking water issue on reserves.

Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act  Madam Speaker, I would like to begin by thanking my esteemed colleague, the member for Sarnia—Lambton, for introducing Bill C‑228 and for working across party lines throughout the process, working with all the opposition parties on a bill that matters very much to the Bloc Québécois.

Income Tax Act  Madam Speaker, we are here to talk about Bill C-241, which was introduced by my hon. colleague from Essex. This bill amends the Income Tax Act to allow tradespeople and apprentices to deduct travel-related expenses from their income. As my hon. colleague, the member for Joliette, pointed out, we support this bill.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, if, and only if, the Liberal government has good economists, then it did a cost-benefit benefit analysis of its investments, whether in capture and storage or in the oil industry through its Crown corporations. What about the cost of inaction and the consequences of climate change, which are quantifiable and priced in real money?

Budget Implementation Act, 2022, No. 1  Mr. Speaker, I always enjoy conversing with my hon. colleague. His question really ties in to my previous answer. The federal government always has to impose conditions, even for a system Quebec already has. It is extremely paternalistic, as the member just said. When we want our money back for what we consider to be our needs, the federal government imposes conditions.

Budget Implementation Act, 2022, No. 1  Mr. Speaker, the overheated housing market does differ from one city to the next. We can all agree that Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal and the regions of Quebec do not all have the same problems. Using a single pan-Canadian measure to address all of the country's challenges is therefore a bad idea.
