Persons with Disabilities  Mr. Speaker, our government consulted Canadians across the country regarding a new law on accessibility. We want to hear from all Canadians on this subject in order to develop new legislation. We met with over 6,000 Canadians and groups during the consultation process. We are always open to suggestions so that we can create the best possible legislation for all Canadians.

Flooding  Mr. Speaker, today I would like to express my heartfelt compassion for the people of my riding, Argenteuil—La Petite-Nation, and people in all the regions affected by flooding these past few weeks. My colleagues and I share their pain in this difficult time. I am so grateful to municipal officials, police officers, firefighters, EMTs, armed forces personnel, community support organizations, and especially the many volunteers for working tirelessly to help the disaster victims.

Special Olympics World Winter Games 2017  Mr. Speaker, from March 18 to 24, Team Canada will participate in the 2017 edition of the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Austria. Canada will be competing in six events: alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, figure skating, floor hockey, snowshoeing, and speed skating. This is the largest team Canada to ever go to a Special Olympics World Winter Games.

Canadian Paralympic Hall of Fame  Mr. Speaker, I would like to take this opportunity in the House to salute the Minister of Sport and Persons with Disabilities. She is part of a group of five exceptional people. In fact, this year she was nominated by the Canadian Paralympic Committee to the Canadian Paralympic Hall of Fame.

The 51st Canadian Ski Marathon  Mr. Speaker, the 51st Canadian ski marathon will take place this weekend in the beautiful riding of Argenteuil—La Petite-Nation. This event is North America's longest and oldest Nordic ski tour. The legendary Herman Smith-Johannsen, better known as Jack Rabbit, participated in this marathon until the age of 105.

U.S. Decision Regarding Travel Ban  Mr. Speaker, I would like to thank my colleague for his speech and ask him a very simple question. In his speech, he mentioned that our Prime Minister delivered a pretty good speech on this issue. It was an inclusive speech that made it clear that Canada is a welcoming country.

Forestry Industry  Mr. Speaker, on November 29, I had the pleasure of representing the Minister of Natural Resources of Canada to announce in my riding a $19-million investment in two innovative projects in the forestry sector. Fortress Specialty Cellulose will be using birch for the production of dissolving pulp.

Accessibility for Persons with Reduced Mobility  Mr. Speaker, I rise in the House today to talk about accessibility. This summer, the Minister of Sport and Persons with Disabilities launched Canada-wide consultations about what an accessible Canada means to people. The purpose of the consultations is to inform the development of planned new accessibility legislation.

This year, we mark the 10th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Canada is proud to be one of the first countries to sign the convention. This year the theme of the international day is achieving 17 goals for the future we want.

2016 Grey Cup  Mr. Speaker, today the 104th Grey Cup victory parade took place in Ottawa to celebrate the Redblacks' win against the Calgary Stampeders on the weekend. The last time a winning football club celebrated in the streets of Ottawa was in 1976, when Ottawa won the 64th Grey Cup. Although we did not know which team would take home the cup that year, we knew that a “rough riders” team would win.

Canada Pension Plan  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague for his speech. He spoke a lot about jobs, job creation, and creating jobs for the middle class and the less fortunate. This morning, I had the opportunity to announce historic investments in mills that continue to provide jobs and create new ones.

Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, I would like to thank my colleague for her question. This agreement will help create jobs in various areas of publishing, music, digital media, and other areas related to culture and talent. I do not really see why we would be sued because it is a good agreement for industries that create direct and indirect jobs.

Obviously, today's goal is to focus on the Canada-European Union comprehensive economic and trade agreement. I understand that the member has questions about the United States. However, today, I would like to answer only questions regarding the principles that we established with the European Union that seek to maintain our policy space, make Canadian content available abroad, and most of all, maintain support for international co-operation.
