Justice committee The statistics that I've been shown from the Canadian Centre for Child Protection, Ms. Dhillon, indicate that they've received 3,400 reports of sextortion in the last year alone. That's 65 children victimized per week. That is unacceptable. Again, I speak to you as a father as well as a parliamentarian and the Minister of Justice that, with the advent of the Internet and smart phones, a lot of things happen, and sometimes unbeknownst to us.

Canadian Sustainable Jobs Act Therefore, it is almost insultingly obvious that it is a cynical last-minute attempt to obscure the real aims and the real consequences. The Liberals already failed their just transition attempt for 3,400 coal workers in 14 communities, and some say past behaviour is a good predictor of future behaviour. Last year, the environment commissioner said that plan failed by every measure and left those workers and all those communities behind.

Natural Resources committee Thank you, honourable member. I think it's around 30%. I don't have it exact, but I think there are about 3,400 megawatts of wind and about another 1,200 megawatts of solar out of a total grid capacity of probably about 15,000 megawatts. It's a high percentage. I think it's over 30% in terms of capacity of power installed.

Information & Ethics committee However, that costs a lot of money and we also want to be able to meet the demand. Right now, I have a backlog of 3,400 complaints, and I don't have the resources needed to investigate them. I would be delighted to be given additional temporary funding to conduct those investigations. On the other hand, I would also be prepared to give money back if the number of complaints that I have to deal with were to decrease.

Information & Ethics committee For some, that backlog of 3,400 complaints may make it seem as though they are being denied access to information.

Information & Ethics committee Despite all the measures taken to improve our efficiency, and considering the growing number of complaints registered, our backlog now stands at approximately 3,400 complaints. Even if we manage to reduce the number of complaints in the backlog by a few hundred a year, we will not be able to completely eliminate it by the end of my mandate. A lot of the files are very complex.

Procedure and House Affairs committee The candidate who won the riding won by a margin of 9%. I agree. Yes, 3,400 or something—

Status of Women committee It's how I got involved—seeing the impact of the activities of men exploiting young girls and women on the streets of my core community in Edmonton. I've worked with over 3,400 men. They come from all walks of life and all heritages and are of all ages. The average age is around 30 to 50, but we have had 18-year-olds to 80-year-olds. Fifty per cent are married.

Veterans Affairs committee The challenge with that survey is that it has a small sample size. At this point in time, it's about 3,400 clients—everyone who received services—

Foreign Affairs committee A 25% average decline in essential pregnancy-related care would result in an additional 134,000 obstetric complications and 3,400 maternal deaths. Already, in the space of these testimonies, one woman has died every two minutes globally as a result of childbirth or pregnancy. Let me underscore that these are perfectly preventable deaths.

Industry committee First of all, I want to thank all members of the committee for inviting the Canadian Automobile Dealers Association to express its perspective on Bill C-244. CADA is a federation of provincial and regional dealer associations that represents 3,400 members across the country. Our dealers employ more than 160,000 Canadians and have always been a major component of the social fabric in rural and urban Canadian communities. Not only do dealers help consumers in accessing a vehicle that fits their needs, but they are also heavily involved in procuring repair services and technical expertise to the clients in the years that follow the purchase.

Fall Economic Statement Implementation Act, 2022 We know that across the country there is a housing crisis. People in my community cannot get ahead. We have 3,400 houseless folks across the city of Edmonton. We have nearly 470 people who died in the last two years of houselessness. These are folks I knew, real people who are affected. To give credit to the government, this fall economic statement does, in fact, help some of those folks with a $500 housing benefit.

Public Accounts committee On top of that, places like Service Canada, in my city of Edmonton, haven't been open in almost two years. It's a concern for populations. There are 3,400 houseless folks in my community. In Edmonton Griesbach, it's 3,400. In the last two years, 462 have died. When I think about hard-to-reach populations, I think about these people in my community who are unable to access these services.

Business of Supply Speaker, it must be a rude awakening that the leader of the member's party is not invited to their own convention for people his party used to represent in Saskatchewan. It used to be the party of workers. Taxes on Canadians' paycheques have gone from $3,400 to $4,100. It is a $700 increase. If the member does not understand that is too high and Canadians cannot afford it, I am not sure what his party represents.

Business of Supply That would mean cancelling its planned carbon tax increase and their planned tax hikes on paycheques, which are all defined on the Liberal government's own website as taxes. The numbers are stark. A Canadian making $60,000 a year went from paying $3,400 a year in taxes under the previous Conservative government to $4,169 in taxes today. The average Canadian family now spends more of their income on taxes than they do on food, clothing and shelter combined, and this share is going to keep escalating under the current Liberal government.
