New Democratic Party of Canada This tax would raise the price on everything that Canadian families in Mississauga—Streetsville pay for, including gas, groceries and electricity. Our government has a low tax plan for jobs and growth across the country, a plan Canadians support. In fact, thanks to our government's efforts a Canadian family of four now keeps over $3,000 more of its money in its own pockets.

Leader of the New Democratic Party of Canada This $20 billion job-killing carbon tax will make it harder for Canadians to take these vacations in the future, because they will be paying more for everything, including gas, groceries and electricity. The person pushing this $20 billion job-killing carbon tax is none other than the leader of the NDP.

New Democratic Party of Canada The NDP is planning to raise over $20 billion in a job-killing carbon tax that would increase the cost of gas, groceries and electricity. I know that my constituents in Etobicoke Centre would not welcome that at all. The NDP members can run but they cannot hide. At every turn our Conservative government will warn Canadians about the NDP's job-killing $20 billion carbon tax.

Leader of the New Democratic Party of Canada Their priority is a $21-billion carbon tax that would hurt the economy and hurt Canadian families. Canadians do not want to pay more for their gas, groceries, and electricity. They reject the NDP's hidden tax scheme. When will the NDP leader come clean and admit that his $21 billion carbon tax would hurt Canada's strong economic growth and raise the cost of all goods and services consumed by Canadians?

Leader of the New Democratic Party of Canada We all know that the NDP leader is planning to generate billions through a carbon tax that would increase the price of everything for Canadian families, including gas, groceries and electricity. It is written in black and white in their election platform, and the NDP leader actually promised to go beyond the NDP's carbon tax scheme to win the party's leadership. Last March he also clearly stated that of course he had a cap-and-trade program that would produce billions.

New Democratic Party of Canada This NDP job-killing carbon tax would raise the price of everything for Canadian families, including gas, groceries and electricity. My constituents do not want this new scheme that will take money from their pockets and put their jobs at risk. That is why I stand firmly with my Conservative colleagues against the NDP leader's job-killing carbon tax.

New Democratic Party of Canada Its sneaky tax scheme would have Canadians spend more of their hard-earned tax dollars on gas, groceries and electricity. Why does the leader of the NDP want hard-working Canadians to pay for his $21 billion carbon tax?

Leader of the New Democratic Party of Canada Speaker, the NDP spent this past weekend debating policy positions, but oddly, what was not discussed was the NDP leader's plan to impose a $20 billion carbon tax on gas, groceries and electricity. On page 4 of its costing document from the last election, it is written in black and white that it has a plan for this new tax. During his leadership race, the NDP leader laid it out clearly that he wanted to impose this job-killing carbon tax to generate billions of dollars in new revenues.

Leader of the New Democratic Party of Canada Is he ashamed to come clean with his sneaky tax plan that would raise the price on everything including gas, groceries and electricity? Is he ashamed to tell hard-working families that he wants to take more of their hard-earned money out of their pockets? Is he ashamed that this plan was already rejected by the Canadian public in 2008 and in 2011?

New Democratic Party of Canada Speaker, the NDP's proposed tax on carbon would not only raise the cost of what Canadians need, such as gas, groceries and electricity, but also of what Canadians love, such as our festive holidays. Halloween is this Wednesday. As families go out to buy candy, pumpkins and costumes, they are happy that our government has lowered not raised taxes.

Business of the House Regrettably, I was personally disappointed that the official opposition did not answer my call last week to lay out the details of its $21.5 billion carbon tax and how it would raise the price of gas, groceries and electricity. Though, I was encouraged that this week in question period the New Democrats actually did acknowledge the subject and raised it. Tomorrow and Monday will see us resume second reading of Bill S-7, the combating terrorism act.

Business of Supply The New Democrats, for example, would prefer implementing a job-killing carbon tax that would increase the price of everything, including gas, groceries and electricity. Bigger government would kill job growth. The NDP leader has tried to conscript his friends in the media to say that he has no plan to implement a carbon tax. After all, the NDP opposed the Liberal carbon tax in 2008.
