Intergovernmental Relations  Mr. Speaker, after eight years of this Prime Minister, we have a passport crisis on our hands, violent crime is on the rise, the cost of housing has doubled, millions of people are using food banks, and criminals are cozy at home. What a fabulous record. Quebeckers are suffering because of his mismanagement.

Intergovernmental Relations  Mr. Speaker, to the already overly long list of this Liberal government's failures, we can add extravagant use of public funds and squandering of Quebeckers' dollars. This government spends Canadians' money like water. For the past eight years, it has had no budgetary discipline, causing the debt to double.

The Member for Bécancour—Nicolet—Saurel  Mr. Speaker, of course, our party joins our colleagues in saluting the longevity of our colleague from Bécancour—Nicolet—Saurel. I would also like to point out that our colleague started out as a Conservative. All joking aside, I think we need to emphasize what a demanding job it is to be a member of Parliament, to hold public office and serve the public, in terms of time, self-sacrifice and selflessness.

Intergovernmental Affairs  Mr. Speaker, after eight years of Canada under the Liberals, one in four children is going hungry, housing costs have doubled, people are sleeping in tents, and food bank usage has become the norm. The Prime Minister has failed in his own responsibilities, and we know that his inflationary spending is creating chaos.

Government Accountability  Mr. Speaker, I rise on a point of order. During question period, the Minister of Public Services and Procurement talked about housing. With the consent of the House, I would like to inform the House of a problem that currently exists in Laval, where one landlord has raised the rent by more than $500 despite a serious infestation of cockroaches, mould and mice.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, I would invite the member to read the speech that our leader gave when he was in Quebec City for the Conservative convention. Inflation has already reached devastating levels, resulting in the highest cost of living in 40 years—

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, inflation has already reached devastating levels, resulting in the highest cost of living in 40 years. Can members believe that some Canadians are currently unable to put food on the table? That is shameful, and the Bloc Québécois is proudly supporting a 23% carbon tax increase.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, after eight years of the Liberal government, more and more Canadians are using food banks. People are so hungry that tensions are rising in lineups, so much so that the police have to intervene to restore order while food is being distributed. Nevertheless, the Liberal government, supported by the Bloc Québécois, is going to increase the carbon tax again on April 1, and that is no April Fool's joke.

Justice  Mr. Speaker, in the Chaudière-Appalaches region, a violent crime wave is stirring up strong emotions and feelings of insecurity. These crimes confirm the alarming increase in violence in this country, which, under this government, has seen a 39% increase in violent crime and a 61% increase in assaults with a weapon or causing bodily harm.

Justice  Mr. Speaker, the Liberal government's policies let violent criminals serve their sentences in the comfort of their living rooms, thanks to Bill C‑5, which the Bloc Québécois supported. Another consequence of this slipshod legislation has made the news: A former police officer who lured a teenage girl is serving his sentence at home.

Conservative Party of Canada  Mr. Speaker, after eight years of this government, the Bloc-Liberal coalition is costly for Quebeckers. The Bloc is in cahoots with this government that is not worth the cost. It pretends to be outraged by the ArriveCAN scandal, yet it voted in favour of cost overruns to fund ArriveCAN eight times.

Public Services and Procurement  Madam Speaker, the government has to answer for this. Were it not for the Conservatives, Canadians would not have found out anything about the ArriveCAN app scandal. It has been chaos since this government took office eight years ago. This Prime Minister is not worth the cost. The ArriveCAN scandal involves two men in the basement of a bungalow who received millions of dollars to develop an app that should have cost $80,000.

Public Services and Procurement  Madam Speaker, Canadians are in shock. They paid 750 times more for the ArriveCAN app than planned. The Auditor General is also shocked. She said it is probably some of the worst record-keeping she has ever seen. After eight years of this incompetent government, ArriveCAN is another example in a long list of abuses.

Madam Speaker, I thank the member for Beauce for seconding my bill. I really appreciate it. I am very proud to introduce this bill, which will make life easier for former employees of organizations subject to the Canada Labour Code.
