Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, I would allow Danielle from Foothills to continue with her comments. She also added, “I would say that I probably ended up better off with that transfer.” She also said, “[so] I think a lot of people would be of the view that if you are going to implement some kind of revenue-neutral carbon pricing, that's probably not a bad way of doing it.”

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, on this issue, it is very important to listen to constituents. I would like to quote Danielle from Foothills. She said, “I do my family's taxes, so I know we got $808.50. We get an extra little bump for me and my husband because we live in a rural environment. When I go back and look at what I spent last year in carbon taxes, because I was working from home, I wasn't commuting, my gas bills were way down, and even the amount of tax that I paid on my home heating [bills]... we're principally natural gas where I live, I would say that I probably ended up better off with that transfer.”

Canadian Sustainable Jobs Act  Mr. Speaker, I rise today to speak to a common‑sense piece of legislation, the Canadian sustainable jobs act. This is legislation that will enable Canadian workers to succeed. That is what it is all about. I will be honest, and I think I am just going to riff a bit here. Honestly, I could not stay in the House for very long.

Seniors  Mr. Speaker, I am very proud to stand in the House next to the Minister of Health as we roll out one of the largest social programs that Canada has ever seen. We are now up to 1.8 million seniors who are registered for Canada's new dental program. This is something that will save lives.

Seniors  Mr. Speaker, I thank the hon. member for the question and even the facts. I have no excuse there. I will dig in deeper and get the answers that the member is looking for.

Consumer-led Banking Act  Mr. Speaker, I had difficulties with the app. I am hoping there will be unanimous consent to have my vote counted in favour.

Right Hon. Brian Mulroney  Mr. Speaker, it is hazardous stuff, I think, for any Canadian to attempt to pay tribute to a man who eulogized two U.S. presidents, particularly a Canadian of Irish descent. Brian Mulroney did big things. When we remember the scale and the stakes of what this man took on, I think of the poor advisers in each meeting whose job it was to remind him of the risks.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, on this side of the House, we will continue. We are absolutely driven to impart upon the people of Canada cold, hard cash in their pockets. That is what this rebate will do. This is not something that is made up. This is not something that is trivial. This is something that Canadians feel in their bank accounts, in their wallets and in their pockets four times a year.

Labour  Mr. Speaker, I can say, certainly today of all days, we stand with workers, and we stand for a stable and fair working environment. I will immediately look into the situation that the member described.

Labour  Mr. Speaker, we are banning replacement workers. We are banning replacement workers because we believe in collective bargaining. We are banning replacement workers because the best deals are made at the table, bigger paycheques are negotiated at the table, and better labour relations and long-term stability are created at the table.

Seniors  Mr. Speaker, since 2015, we have been there for seniors. Increasing old age security was the right thing to do. They are more likely to outlive their savings, have disabilities and need health care. We also increased the guaranteed income supplement, improved the Canada pension plan and introduced a new dental plan.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, let me emphasize, once again, that with this carbon plan, eight out of 10 Canadian households do better than they would otherwise. The question is: unless they revert to their platform commitment of the Erin O'Toole Christmas wish book, where government will decide what they will do with their money, what will they do with the cash that Canadians currently get, that seniors get every month, that seniors know that they can rely on, that they put toward food, that they put toward rent?

Labour  Mr. Speaker, one year ago today Canada signed convention 190 of the International Labour Organization, which is a part of the United Nations. Convention 190 aims to eliminate violence and harassment in workplaces across the globe because no one should face violence or harassment on the job, not in Canada, not anywhere.

Grocery Industry  Mr. Speaker, we remain focused on the affordability needs of seniors. In fact, we are very proud on this side of the House that one of the first things we did was to make sure the age for OAS was maintained at 65 years old, not 67. This was not a change that should have been made here in the House or a change that should have been made at the World Economic Forum, which it was, in Davos, Switzerland.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, I think the rest of us, at least on this side of the House, can see what is happening here. Those were not votes against government programs. Those were all just non-confidence votes. “We did not mean any of that.” They think that what they just did there is all they have to do.
