Seniors  Mr. Speaker, the older seniors get, the more financially vulnerable they become, especially women. We know that seniors over 75 are often unable to work, that they have disabilities and greater health needs. The combination of higher expenses and lower income means that seniors over 75 need additional support.

M1 Composites Technology Inc.  Madam Speaker, this week I would like to talk about a company in my riding of Marc-Aurèle-Fortin called M1 Composites Technology Inc. This company, which is based in Sainte-Rose, recently achieved MACH 5, the highest level of the MACH initiative. The MACH initiative is a methodological scale that was developed to improve suppliers' mastery of key business processes, in order to achieve excellence in leadership, operational excellence, and excellence in workforce planning and development.

Trévi  Mr. Speaker, given the public health situation, entrepreneurs in our ridings are being sorely tested and must try to keep going in order to be ready when things get back to normal. Today, I would like to talk about a company in my riding of Marc-Aurèle-Fortin. The Trévi pool company has stayed in business thanks to its resilience and ingenuity.

Seniors  Mr. Speaker, as we begin this new year, seniors in Quebec and across the country are very concerned about social isolation because of the lockdown. When the crisis hit, our government reacted quickly with strong measures. However, the opposition does not have a plan to help seniors during this difficult time.

Ethics  Mr. Speaker, intolerance and hate have no place in a free and democratic society. That is why everyone, including former Bloc Québécois leader Gilles Duceppe, was shocked by the dangerous comments made a few weeks ago by the member for Beloeil—Chambly, the current Bloc leader. Does the minister agree that we, as parliamentarians, have a duty to lead by example and engage in respectful dialogue?

Public Services and Procurement  Mr. Speaker, our government has been doing exceptional procurement work throughout the pandemic so that Canadians have access to essential personal protective equipment. At the beginning of the pandemic, it was very difficult to obtain N95 masks, face shields, gowns and other personal protective equipment that met approved standards.

Seniors  Mr. Speaker, seniors in Marc-Aurèle-Fortin are worried about the pandemic, but they are also worried about mental health and isolation. I know the holidays will be difficult for them. Our government supports seniors with programs like new horizons for seniors. Would the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Seniors please give us an overview of our government's support for seniors during the pandemic?

Business of Supply  Madam Chair, I see that there is funding for ships in the main estimates. Can you give us an update on the capacity of the Canadian Coast Guard?

Business of Supply  Madam Chair, the Conservatives made cuts to DFO and to science. Can the minister tell us a little about how the government is supporting science at DFO?

Business of Supply  Madam Chair, our oceans are shared with the entire world. Can the minister tell us more about what Canada is doing with its international partners to protect the oceans?

Business of Supply  Madam Chair, the Prime Minister gave the minister a detailed mandate letter in which he set out ambitious targets for the protection of the marine environment. Can the minister inform us of the progress that has been made with respect to the marine conservation targets?

Business of Supply  Madam Chair, the conservation of fish stocks is extremely important for achieving a sustainable fishery. What initiatives has DFO implemented to protect fish stocks?

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I am greatly concerned with public health and with the vision for the future of young and not so young people. I want to invest my energy in working on measures that will protect the future of our constituents.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, the October crisis was difficult for many Quebeckers. I remember it very well because I was there. It is important to remember that, at the time, the federal government responded to formal requests from the Government of Quebec and the City of Montreal. Rewriting history today is out of the question.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I must say that I agree 100%. I was there. I was 28 years old at the time, I was teaching high school, and I can say that it was a step forward. Today, the Bloc Québécois is trying to rewrite a condensed version of history and sow division for partisan purposes. We know it.
