Environment committee  No, but I think it's important to look at migratory species in the context of native animals.

Environment committee  I asked my question, just on how migratory species reflect this definition of “native to Canada”, because we have lots of—

National Council for Reconciliation Act  People came to testify and said that they did not feel represented by such and such organization and that it was another organization that represented them. Take the Native Women's Association of Canada, for example. Half the indigenous population is made up of women or people who identify as female. They should also be represented. They were not included.

National Council for Reconciliation Act  This is an incomplete list and I challenge members to name more: Governor General Mary Simon, Sheila Watt-Cloutier, Okalik Eegeesiak, Dalee Sambo Dorough, Cindy Blackstock, the member for Winnipeg Centre, Justice Murray Sinclair, John Amagoalik, Tagak Curley, former member of Parliament Romeo Saganash, John Borrows, Tracey Lindberg, Duncan McCue, Pam Palmeter and James Eetoolook. I know this is not an exhaustive list in any way.

Status of Women committee  This work is supported by Sport Canada, Status of Women Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada. In 2019, at the request of then minister Duncan, we created mandated safe sport training to educate all sport participants. As so eloquently spoken about previously, we need training and education to be part of it, and yet that's not all.

Canadian Heritage committee  Thank you, Madam Chair. I want to follow up exactly where Mr. Julian left off. It's on the concept of accountability. I was exceptionally upset with Hockey Canada that there were no accountability measures in place. I'm equally upset that there hasn't been the same accountability with Sport Canada.

Canadian Heritage committee  At that time, then minister Kirsty Duncan made an announcement. Two weeks later, these allegations came to light, and no one within the department saw fit to notify the minister or the minister's office of these major allegations from one of the largest national sports organizations?

Canadian Heritage committee  I find it remarkably troubling that you were made aware of these allegations in June of 2018. Hockey Canada continued to get large amounts of funding despite serious criminal allegations of sexual assault, and not once did Sport Canada follow up with with Hockey Canada on the status of the investigation.

Judges Act  Mr. Speaker, as always in the House, it is a pleasure to rise to speak and raise the voice and the message from my constituents in the eastern interior riding of Stormont—Dundas—South Glengarry. I will be splitting my time here this afternoon with our opposition House leader, the member for Barrie—Innisfil.

Budget Implementation Act, 2022, No. 1  We need to see a clean jobs training centre. We need to see just transition legislation. My colleague, Linda Duncan, who represented my riding before me, worked so hard on that. She worked on it for 11 years. We still do not have those supports for Alberta workers. Another thing I want to talk a bit about is the direction and control aspect of this.

Finance committee  From JDRF Canada, we have Dave Prowten, president and chief executive officer, who is joined by Matt Stimpson. From the Native Women's Association of Canada, we have Christian Boucher, senior director, government relations; and Lynne Groulx, chief executive officer. Finally, from Samaritan's Purse Canada, we have John Clayton, director of programs and projects.

Committees of the House  Once introduced, aquatic invasive species populations can grow, and can grow quite quickly, because they do not have any natural environmental predators or things that would prevent them from multiplying. As a result, they can out-compete our native plant species and our native freshwater species, consuming resources and taking over the biodiversity of waterways. They can even alter habitats and make them inhospitable for our native species.

Agriculture committee  Thanks. I appreciate the answer. One of the areas, I would say, where the Government of Canada, departments and bureaucracy could play a role is this. There was a report recently that basically said that we have to reduce animal husbandry and animal agriculture if we want to fight climate change.

Budget Implementation Act, 2022, No. 1  We are talking about over 750,000 units to this day in the shortfall of co-op housing. I was visiting my friends John and Beth last night, who live in co-op housing here in Ottawa. They received safe and secure housing. They were on a wait-list for four years, terrified, which impacted their mental health.

Economic and Fiscal Update Implementation Act, 2021  Madam Speaker, this is again the problem in the House. We have four official political parties and a fifth party, the Green Party, and what parties do not recognize is that when 27,000 people die in this country in six years, this issue should be addressed in the fall economic statement.
