Citizenship and Immigration committee  We continue to work very closely. We have provided $88 million to the City of Toronto to date. We are in discussions with the City of Toronto now over continued assistance to the city, as we are with the Government of Quebec.

Citizenship and Immigration committee  We have briefed the minister on a number of aspects of this. We continue to be concerned about the growing number of asylum claims. I think, as the honourable member has noted, we've had 64,000 claims in the last year, which is of concern. We continue to look at ways to protect the system and to make the system work as efficiently as possible.

Citizenship and Immigration committee  Thank you, Minister. It predates my arrival back at the department as well. I will commit to getting back on this question. One thing we have worked hard on is the transit without visa program, because it's so important to the airports in Vancouver and Toronto. It has been an important model.
