Canada Post  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague for her question. It is very important to think about these things before Christmas and before the end of the month. First of all, I would like to thank the employees of Canada Post for their extremely hard work during the pandemic. They have risen to the challenge, and they are essential workers.

Canada Post  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague for his question about Canada Post, once again. It is vital to understand that Canada Post has been dealing with consistently high volumes of mail during this pandemic. As I said earlier, the employees of Canada Post are working extremely hard to continue delivering mail to Canadians and Quebeckers throughout this crisis.

Public Services and Procurement  Madam Speaker, on July 31, we disclosed supplier names and contract values for all of the contracts that Canada has entered into for PPE and other supplies, except certain commodities that have been proven difficult to obtain and where additional procurements may be needed. When we see case numbers rising, it is extremely important for us to protect our supply chains in order to ensure that we can continue to secure PPE for Canadians now and into the future.

Public Services and Procurement  Mr. Speaker, let me start by saying we made all of our contracts public on our website at the end of July in the interest of full transparency for Canadians. With regard to the contract mentioned, it was actually with a company called FTI Professional Grade, for $237 million for 10,000 ventilators.

COVID-19 Emergency Response  Mr. Speaker, once again I need to highlight what I just said, which is that in the interest of full transparency we revealed on our website at the end of July all of our contracts and suppliers. I would like to take issue therefore with the insinuation that we are not acting in the interest of transparency, and I will say that we now have over two billion items of PPE in this country for Canadians, for front-line health care workers, and we will continue to act with vigour and diligence on their behalf.

COVID-19 Pandemic and Other Matters  Mr. Chair, we in our contracting are ensuring the highest ethical standards for government procurement. When awarding contracts, we at PSPC require suppliers to agree to terms and conditions prohibiting these labour practices and we conduct an integrity check into the background of each of the suppliers.

COVID-19 Pandemic and Other Matters  Madam Chair, the member's question is somewhat misguided in the sense that we have placed an incredible priority on domestic manufacturing. Over half of the face shields received in Canada already have been produced domestically, and we are well on our way to becoming self-sufficient, which we intend to do to address future waves of this pandemic.
