Judges Act  Madam Speaker, the answer is yes. During these challenging times, can we do something positive? I do not know all the rules, but with the expertise we have here, I think we can find a quick way to show that we can pull together when we need to.

Judges Act  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague for his question. If I understand correctly with the help of interpretation, my colleague wants to know if we agree this bill should be passed quickly. Earlier we talked about the process. As a new MP, I understand that there is a protocol and rules we have to follow.

Judges Act  Madam Speaker, it is nice to see you in person. I want to say hello to my colleagues on video conference. I want to take a moment to pay tribute to my father, who died from ALS three years ago and whose birthday was October 7. I mention this because there is a lot of talk about these issues and about how to support caregivers.

Judges Act  Madam Speaker, I would like my colleague to comment on the importance of passing this bill quickly, even if it is not the perfect solution, because we need to move forward. Can we pass it quickly, since we agree on it?

Resumption of debate on Address in Reply  Madam Speaker, I have a very simple question for my colleague. I realize he is very proud of everything that has been done in recent months. I understand, because I too was pleased in the first few weeks when a lot of changes were being made to mitigate the impact at the beginning of the crisis.

Peschisolido Report  Madam Speaker, I would like to ask my colleague a question. We all want to help people and try to find a way out of this crisis. What happens when human beings go through a crisis? When everything is fine, we do not try to change things, but when things go wrong, we grab the bull by the horns and get to the bottom of things.

Peschisolido Report  Madam Speaker, I would like to ask my colleague a question. We spent part of the summer trying to shed light on WE Charity. We also found that people no longer trust the government. Since the hon. member has 16 years of experience and I am a new MP, I would like to ask him what can be done to increase Canadians' trust and stop the torrent of conflicts of interest and ethics violations coming out of this government.

Government Business No. 1  Mr. Speaker, since the member brought it up, let us talk about WE Charity. I would like to talk about the recovery benefit from a parent's perspective. My colleagues and I spent several weeks looking into the WE Charity situation. Just as we were getting to the bottom of it, the government slapped the lid on the pressure cooker, and now here we are with a bill that needed to be passed quickly.

Government Business No. 1  Mr. Speaker, I have heard what the Canada Revenue Agency wants to do to help alleviate what we are going through right now. I am very concerned about those who received the CERB in error, and those who were supposed to receive it but did not. I am also very concerned about the thousands of individuals who have been victims of fraud and will suffer the consequences by the end of this fiscal year.

COVID-19 Pandemic and Other Matters  Madam Chair, I am going to tell you something because just one hour ago I was at the Standing Committee on Finance. I understand what is happening. We are not getting answers, we cannot get at the truth. One witness announced that the government was receiving personal data for partisan purposes for the Liberal Party.

COVID-19 Pandemic and Other Matters  Madam Chair, I have some time left. On behalf of the 37 million Canadians, all Quebeckers and my constituents, I invite the government to quickly shed light on this matter.

COVID-19 Pandemic and Other Matters  Madam Chair, I will use my five minutes to draw everyone's attention to this issue. I will get straight to the point. The Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner found the Prime Minister guilty on two occasions, but then what happened? The Prime Minister kept doing the same thing.

COVID-19 Pandemic and Other Matters  Madam Chair, I will ask a different question. What is a conflict of interest? I will continue speaking so he has enough time to answer with three or four sentences. What is a conflict of interest?

COVID-19 Pandemic and Other Matters  Madam Chair, once again, let us look at the facts. The Liberals are in government. Every administrator has been through this. People back home are asking me why it is that when they sit on a board, they have to disclose any personal information that could lead to a potential conflict of interest.

COVID-19 Pandemic and Other Matters  Madam Chair, I did not get an answer, but I have another question. Are cabinet and the entire government complicit in what happened with a failure to disclose information that may soon be found to have violated the Conflict of Interest Act?
