Canada Labour Code  Mr. Speaker, I would like to thank my colleague because we worked really hard in committee and everyone really did their part to help strengthen this bill. I would like to remind him that there will be local committees and that they will have a major role to play in keeping workplaces safe and free from violence and harassment.

Canada Labour Code  Mr. Speaker, I would like to thank my colleague for her excellent and very pertinent question. The answer is prevention. The bill includes prevention measures, including mandatory workplace training. This will allow employees and employers to see what is going on in the workplace.

Retirement Congratulations  Mr. Speaker, today marks the last day in the remarkable public service career of Yaprak Baltacioglu. Since joining the public service almost 30 years ago, her smarts, her drive, and her style of service leadership have led her to hold senior positions across government, including deputy secretary to cabinet at the Privy Council, deputy minister of agriculture, deputy minister of Transport, deputy minister of Infrastructure, and since 2012, secretary of the Treasury Board.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague for the question. I am pleased to hear that he had the chance to talk with his constituents. I also had the privilege of hosting a roundtable and the questions were very clear. People wanted to know how to access the Canada summer jobs program, how to align with national priorities, and how to ensure that young Canadians gain experience that respects their rights.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague for the question. In Ottawa—Vanier it was very interesting to see how many groups, whether non-profit organizations, businesses, or institutions wanted to use this highly sought-after program to encourage young people to work during the summer.

Rare Disease Day  Mr. Speaker, February 28 marks Rare Disease Day. While individually these diseases may be rare, collectively they represent over 7,000 different diseases. That sobering statistic is complicated by the fact that they have common issues: medical professionals lack familiarity; diagnostic times are much longer, if diagnosed at all; and many have no treatments or cures.

The Economy  Mr. Speaker, the results speak for themselves. Our plan is working. It is helping Canadians create jobs and it is growing our economy. However, we still have some work to do. Over 500,000 jobs have been created since the government came to office, and Canada is leading the G7 in growth.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague for his question. It is important to remember, as I mentioned in my speech earlier, that the Prime Minister has responded to the commissioner's findings. The commissioner was very clear when she said that he had contravened certain rules and that he must now work with the new commissioner and inform him of all future travel, which is what the Prime Minister will do.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I am very proud of the fact that the Prime Minister took responsibility for what happened. As soon as the commissioner's report was released, he accepted the findings and told Canadians he would do better next time. He said he would tell the commissioner about all future family and personal vacations.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I will be sharing my time with the hon. member for St. Catharines. It is always an honour and a privilege for me to rise in the House to tell Canadians about the remarkable work being done by our government under the leadership of our right hon. Prime Minister. That same Prime Minister took responsibility for his actions and accepted the findings of the former commissioner as soon as her report was released.

National Anthem  Mr. Speaker, I am proud to speak today in memory of the hon. member who held this seat before me. Last night, I was honoured to be present in the gallery as Bill C-210, an act to amend the National Anthem Act, was voted on by senators. After sitting in the other place for 19 months, including nearly a year at third reading, I was delighted to see senators finally adopt the bill and send it for royal assent.
