Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, every time a Conservative member rises in the House, I can sense something fishy going on. They are incapable of telling the truth. They are incapable of taking responsibility for what they did in the past. That is a shame for my colleagues from Quebec. These people supported the carbon exchange.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, I count not just one, two or three members of the Leader of the Opposition's caucus who supported a price on pollution in Quebec, but four. How many others are hiding and have changed their minds since he took over as leader of the Conservative Party? My message to them is to not be afraid of their leader and to respect their own opinion.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, I am rather shocked by the participation of my colleagues from Quebec who are in the Conservative Party. I would like my colleague across the way to ask his colleague from Louis‑Saint‑Laurent why, when he was at the National Assembly of Quebec, he said he was so happy with the carbon exchange.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, I have a brief question for the Conservative leader. What is the Conservatives' plan to protect the environment? The answer is simple: They have no plan and no solutions. A real solution would be to develop a plan to fight climate change. A real solution would be to protect our environment for future generations.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, I can tell my colleagues that there is a price on pollution and that pollution is costly. With the measures we have put in place, we will speed up the fight against climate change. We have a plan and we are taking concrete action to put more money in taxpayers' pockets.

Canadian Coast Guard  Mr. Speaker, we all remember the nine years of darkness of the Harper years, when the Conservatives closed the Coast Guard stations. It was unforgivable and irresponsible. Last Friday, I was in the Gaspé to announce the construction of the Coast Guard's very first hybrid ship. It is a great project that will stimulate the economy.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, Canadians know that the Conservative Party is a world expert in the art of speaking out of both sides of its mouth. In 2012, the current leader of the Conservative Party led the charge in the House of Commons to eviscerate the Canadian Navigable Waters Act, while claiming that it would not hurt the environment.

Fisheries and Oceans  Mr. Speaker, I would like to thank my colleague for his strong advocacy for fish species at risk. This fall, Fisheries and Oceans Canada successfully led the first high seas patrol to detect and prevent illegal fishing in the north Pacific. This operation led to the seizure of over 3,000 illegally fished shark fins.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, it is pretty incredible to see a colleague from Quebec who does not believe in climate change. I just want to tell him all about the warming oceans, fishing industry concerns, endangered species and the tornadoes that destroyed our docks, our shorelines. We have to deal with shoreline erosion.

Housing  Mr. Speaker, my colleagues opposite have no shame claiming that they want to march towards prosperity on a path of austerity. Canadians know that all the Conservative Party stands for is chop, chop, chop, cutting funding for small craft harbours, cutting support for fishing communities and cutting the crucial programs our communities depend on.

Housing  Mr. Speaker, I have the sad duty to announce that members on the other side of the House can no longer see clearly. They are so determined to make cuts everywhere that they have cut back on their own glasses. They have no plan, no vision. That is all the Conservatives have to offer us.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, Conservative common sense is like jam: the less there is, the more it is spread around. The Conservatives are proposing to cut services and support for families, set back women's rights and muzzle scientists. I could go on like that all afternoon. Chop, chop, chop, that is what common sense looks like to the Conservatives.
