Festivals of Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas  Mr. Speaker, today, I rise to recognize the vibrant festivals of Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas, festivals that illuminate our hearts and homes with joy and light. Diwali, also known as the festival of lights, holds profound significance in our cultural tapestry and is one of the largest festivals celebrated in Brampton.

National Security Review of Investments Modernization Act  Mr. Speaker, when I am talking to industry innovators, researchers and even the clean technology sector, they expect the act to be transparent. They expect our national security interests to be protected. While we continue to grow the economy and create well-paying jobs, it is important to take note of our national security interests, but also to protect the interests of our innovators and researchers.

International Trade  Mr. Speaker, I would like to thank the member for Lac-Saint-Louis for his strong advocacy on behalf of businesses. I visited two innovative companies in Montreal and heard about how they were growing, thanks to our government supports. OPAL-RT Technologies has been unlocking its global potential and now has a presence in over 50 countries.

Public Safety  Madam Speaker, over the past few months, as I knocked on doors in my riding of Brampton East, I have had many conversations about public safety. All levels of government have a role to play in keeping our communities safe, and here in Parliament, we are working together to further strengthen our Criminal Code.

Allegations Against Government of India  Madam Chair, I thank the hon. member for his important remarks today. Would the hon. member agree that we need to stand together against all forms of foreign interference? When families in my riding came to this country, including my own family, we came to this country because of our respect for international law, our rules and principles.

Allegations Against Government of India  Madam Chair, in my riding of Brampton East, the South Asian community, Sikhs, Hindu, Muslims and various diasporas in my riding, have reached out with various degrees of concern about foreign interference. I would like to hear from the member if he has heard the same thing from some of his constituents in Mississauga—Malton?

Allegations Against Government of India  Madam Chair, as leaders in our respective communities across the country, I think it is on us to ensure that the community knows that our institutions and security agencies are working hard at this investigation. I think it is about our principles and values, which we need to continue to remain united and hold strong as Canadians.

Allegations Against Government of India  Madam Chair, just like in his community in his riding, in my community, they have come together on this very important matter to stand united as Canadians against foreign interference. As this is an active investigation, I do not think it is fair for me to comment on the investigation itself.

Allegations Against Government of India  Madam Chair, the Prime Minister did indeed raise this issue, but it is not the first time the issue was brought to that level of government, through ministers, parliamentarians and MPs feeding into the system about our communities' concerns. I know many of the MPs met with the public safety minister to express these concerns that we are hearing from our communities.

Allegations Against Government of India  Madam Chair, I will be splitting my time with the hon. member for Mississauga—Malton. As this is my first time rising in the House today after the summer break, I would like to take a moment to thank the constituents of Brampton East for putting their faith in me as I continue to advocate for them here in Ottawa.

Canada Early Learning and Child Care Act  Madam Speaker, what the Conservatives are actually calling for is the cancellation of child care. We saw in their last platform that they said families do not need child care, they need tax credits to help them with the cost of child care, but we know that does not create spaces or help families.

Canada Early Learning and Child Care Act  Madam Speaker, this bill is about certainty. I would ask the member opposite what Conservatives would place in this bill to ensure that there is certainty? Roughly two years, that same party was stepping up their campaign pledges to cancel this very program. They stepped up to say that we do not need to be there for families.

Canada Early Learning and Child Care Act  Madam Speaker, I am still working on my French, and hopefully one day I will be able to answer in French. When we are talking about savings for families, we know things are tough right now. Families need more support, and through our CCB program and through this child care program, we are saving families money.

Canada Early Learning and Child Care Act  Madam Speaker, I want to thank member, who does hard work in the House, for his very important question. When we talk about the economic value this could add to Canada, the program would give back to Canadians in many ways. Women would be able to re-enter the workforce. Our economy would benefit from the added value.
