Justice committee  I take your points about the preliminary inquiries. I have two questions. You mentioned that preliminary inquiries serve an educative discovery-like aspect, particularly for unrepresented accused, etc., but what about the traumatic impacts that preliminary inquiries can have, particularly in sexual offence cases?

I'm not sure whether you followed it, Professor Roach, but yesterday we had Jonathan Rudin here from Aboriginal Legal Services, and he talked about something that was intellectually curious to me. It was about the efforts we're making to address intimate partner violence and the reverse onus provisions on bail.
