Environment committee  I think it would be most helpful if Ms. Vrany started on what we refer to as the Glasgow commitment, because NRCan is leading the work on that. On the WTO issue, my understanding is that the Department of Finance is continuing to examine issues surrounding signing on to that, so unless he tells me otherwise, I think that's likely Mr.

Environment committee  What I was going to say is that there's been significant progress in meeting the government's commitment to eliminate and rationalize inefficient fossil fuel subsidies in the tax sector. There have been over eight tax measures so far—

Environment committee  Thank you, Mr. Chair. These issues are actually covered by the Department of Natural Resources, both the just transition and pipeline issues. I am hoping, if she's able, to pass it to my colleague, Ms. Vrany.

Environment committee  Yes, budget 2022 did extend, for an additional year, funding for the federal freshwater action plan, which is the flagship initiative that Environment Canada works with in the Great Lakes, Lake Winnipeg, the St. Lawrence River, the Fraser River, the Mackenzie River and the Saint John River.

Environment committee  Thank you. I'll just note that Finance Canada is leading the peer review with Argentina. The first step is a self-review report that gets submitted for peer review, and then there's the peer review itself. My understanding is that the self-review report is on track to be finalized towards the end of the year.

Environment committee  I'll start, and then my colleague Doug Nevison, who's responsible for the climate change branch, may want to come in. Environment Canada is responsible for supporting actions across the government, including many of our own, that add up to achieving the government's climate change commitments.
