Questions Passed as Orders for Returns  With regard to the Civilian Review and Complaints Commission for the RCMP (CRCC), since its establishment: (a) how many complaints and requests for review were filed by individuals identifying as First Nations, Metis, or Inuit, broken down by percentage and number; (b) how many of the complaints and requests for review in (a) were dismissed without being investigated; (c) how many complaints and requests for review were filed for incidents occurring on-reserve or in predominantly First Nations, Metis, and Inuit communities, broken down by percentage and number; (d) how many of those complaints and requests for review in (c) were dismissed without being investigated; and (e) for requests for review in which the CRCC is not satisfied with the RCMP’s report, how many interim reports have been provided to complainants for response and input on recommended actions?

Procedure and House Affairs committee  During the election, what was the range of coronavirus cases you had, and what was the average number of daily cases, for example, for Moncton, Saint John and Fredericton? Would you be willing to table that with the committee?

Procedure and House Affairs committee  I think what I'd like to see is a reflection of the more current information that's coming out from the provinces. I know, for example, that the legislature is sitting today in my province of Ontario, and they've announced that they're going to two sittings a week. If we're going to go through what each province is doing, I think it needs to be more reflective of the current scenario.

Procedure and House Affairs committee  Thank you, Madam Chair. I want to address the point that Ms. Duncan brought up with respect to health. I think all of us clearly understand that we're in the middle of a public health crisis at this point. Our mandate from Parliament is to look at virtual sittings and the impact that will have.

Procedure and House Affairs committee  I have a couple of quick points, Madam Chair. We've been dealing with this now for the better part of a month—since this committee has been constituted—and I still have not been able to reconcile the fact that here we are, as members of Parliament, effectively voting ourselves an increase when that is not the normal practice.

I am accompanied today by Duncan Retson, Associate Assistant Deputy Minister, and Jennifer Garrett, director general responsible for the Centre Block program at Public Services and Procurement Canada. We have been asked today to provide an update on the long-term vision and plan with a focus on the Centre Block program and Block 2 redevelopment.

Industry committee  John, thank you for highlighting it. Yes, it was disappointing to provide stats only to 2017, knowing the historic budget was in 2018.

Industry committee  I would say that our department and portfolio and other government departments are all working to implement the innovation and skills agenda as quickly and effectively as possible. There are four components to that. One is around people and skills. You heard the minister talk earlier about the CanCode program and our STEM initiatives.

The Budget  There was literally nothing to talk about. He was a minister. He called a judge. He resigned. It was simple. John Duncan, a very distinguished former aboriginal affairs minister in the Harper government, a man with an unblemished record of integrity and unimpeachable character, praised by members of all parties for his work, once was approached by a constituent who had a problem with a quasi-judicial body.
