Jobs and Growth Act, 2012  Mr. Speaker, once again the member was saying that MPs were not involved in these types of things. The last question had to do with the Canada Grain Act. Of course, there have been major consultations involved in this. They talked about inward inspection and all of these other kinds of changes.

Jobs and Growth Act, 2012  Mr. Speaker, when listening to the member opposite, I was thinking back to when I had a chance to speak with Preston Manning. He had discussed the success of his father, Ernest Manning, in the province of Alberta. He said that the best policy they had was the fact that the NDP kept being elected in Saskatchewan, which of course drove all of the economic activity into the province of Alberta.

Member for Papineau  Mr. Speaker, members know the saying “like father, like son”. Yesterday we learned that the member for Papineau directly attacked the great people of Alberta, by saying: Canada is in bad shape right now because Albertans are controlling our community and social democratic agenda.

Jobs and Growth, 2012  Mr. Speaker, when we take a look at the types of things and the extra amount of work that has been done in the budget process, I am extremely proud of the people who have worked on it. Again, I am not sure whether we want to get into carbon tax discussions. I had the opportunity to know Ernest Manning who was premier of Alberta many years ago.

Jobs and Growth Act, 2012  Mr. Speaker, at one time former premier Ernest Manning was asked what the magic was that helped to create the wealth in Alberta. He said that it was the election of NDP governments in Saskatchewan, which drove all of the capital from there over to Alberta. I wonder if the member could speak to some of the new things that are here because of the budget and the assistance that his province is gaining from that.
