Fight Against Food Waste Act  Mr. Speaker, I would like to start by saying that I am really pleased that the member for Berthier—Maskinongé has brought the issue of food waste before us. It is truly wonderful that we are having a conversation about food policy today, because it is very important to me. I will say that I have some concerns about the wording in the bill.

Budget Implementation Act, 2016, No. 1  Madam Speaker, I find it interesting to hear what my friends say from other regions across the country. It gives me different perspectives to learn about. I was particularly interested in what the member raised about farming and organic farming, and the steps that are being taken in Saskatchewan to support sustainable agriculture.

Budget Implementation Act, 2016, No. 1.  Mr. Speaker, given that last week all MPs were in our home ridings where we had the opportunity to speak with our constituents, I am wondering what my colleague heard from his constituents as to the greatest needs of young families and seniors and how the budget might actually help to solve some of the problems they are facing.

Criminal Code  Mr. Speaker, I would rather not speak about an individual specifically when I respond to my friend, because I cannot predict what his decisions may or may not have been if this legislation had been in place. To speak more generally, I understand the point the member is raising.

Criminal Code  Mr. Speaker, palliative care is an important part of the discussion about end-of-life care. There is no question that it has come up several times in this place and it is important. I am a little wary of throwing around percentages and numbers. At committee, we heard a lot of different percentages.

The Budget  Madam Speaker, I would like to thank the member for Calgary Rocky Ridge for quite a detailed analysis. He has clearly read very carefully through the budget. However, it is interesting that he failed to mention the Canada child benefit, which was clearly a promise and a very important part of what the Liberal government promised to do.
