Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, inflation is shattering the dreams of Quebeckers from age 18 to 45. In fact, 75% of them are postponing or abandoning their plans to buy a home or start a family. The costly Bloc‑Liberal coalition that wants to radically increase the inflationary carbon tax is simply making life impossible.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, I am wondering who is actually turning their back on who. Recently, we learned that, next year, a family of four will have to pay $700 more just for groceries. That is the unfortunate consequence of the costly Bloc-Liberal coalition and its carbon tax, which is having a real impact in Quebec.

École polytechnique de Montréal  Madam Speaker, I thank the minister for her inspiring speech. On December 6, 1989, 14 female students were killed at Montreal's École Polytechnique. As they were excitedly preparing for their final exams and the holiday celebrations that were fast approaching, the unthinkable happened.

Housing  Mr. Speaker, after eight years, this Prime Minister has created housing hell. Mortgage payments have doubled. The price of housing has doubled. Tent cities, where people sleep in tents, are popping up in cities across Canada. For example, in Sherbrooke, a young, 30-year old man is forced to live in his tent because he cannot find a single room.

Finance  Mr. Speaker, over the past eight years, this Prime Minister has added billions of dollars to the debt, more than the other 22 prime ministers combined. Let that sink in for a moment. Next year, he will spend more on servicing his debt than he has on health care transfers to the provinces.

Finance  Mr. Speaker, there are not enough hours in the day to talk about how wasteful they are. The numbers are undeniable: two million Canadians use food banks every month; a family of four will spend an additional $1,065 on groceries this year; students are sleeping in shelters; and mortgage payments have doubled.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women  Mr. Speaker, tomorrow is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Women do not feel safe in our streets. We are always in a state of hypervigilance. After eight years under this government, sexual assaults have increased by 71%. Help is available, however.

Protecting Young Persons from Exposure to Pornography Act  Madam Speaker, I am very pleased to rise to speak. I am in a good mood because, so far, we have heard speeches from colleagues from various political parties who have decided to support Bill S-210, an act to restrict young persons' online access to sexually explicit material. It is important to mention that the sponsor of this bill is Senator Julie Miville-Dechêne, who is very well known in Quebec.

Finance  Mr. Speaker, with all due respect, I have a reality check for my colleague. The economic situation is such that a 30-year-old man from Sherbrooke has to resort to spending the winter in a tent because he does not have access to affordable housing. The costly Bloc-Liberal coalition wants to drastically increase the carbon tax, and that makes everything more expensive.

Housing  Mr. Speaker, Scotiabank has calculated that government overspending has added two percentage points to Canada's interest rates. As a result, Canadians who are struggling to pay their mortgages are still suffering. I remind members that, in eight years, this government has yet to present a balanced budget.

Carbon Pricing  Madam Speaker, after eight years, this government is making Quebeckers poorer. The second carbon tax applies in Quebec and adds up to 20¢ per litre of gasoline. I am not the one saying that. It is the Parliamentary Budget Officer. Even that is not enough for the Bloc Québécois though.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, after eight years, this government is panicking. The Prime Minister announced that he was pausing the carbon tax for the Atlantic provinces. That is not enough. We are asking him to be fair to all Canadians, including Quebeckers, because unlike what the Bloc Québécois is saying, the second carbon tax does apply in Quebec.

Carbon Tax  Mr. Speaker, after eight years with this government in office, the cost of living has skyrocketed. People simply can no longer make ends meet. This government, with the strong support of its Bloc Québécois allies, are imposing a second carbon tax that adds up to 20¢ per litre of gas.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, the second carbon tax affects Quebec, and it is having a catastrophic impact on the lives of our constituents. Our food banks are overwhelmed and that includes Frigos pleins, Comptoir Le Grenier and L'Essential des Etchemins in my community. One in 10 people are using food banks.
