Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, after eight years of the Prime Minister, British Columbians are having a tough time making ends meet. Mortgages and rents are among the highest in the world. Gas prices are the highest in North America. Inflation on groceries has led to the longest lineups ever at food banks.

Affordable Housing and Groceries Act  Mr. Speaker, on that point of order, I would be happy to provide my notes, as I spoke to the issue as well.

Government Business No. 30—Proceedings on Bill C-56  Mr. Speaker, I know that the Liberals are patting themselves on the back for introducing the bill. Actually, what they should be doing is congratulating the member for Carleton, the Conservative Party leader, for bringing forth the building homes not bureaucracy private member's bill.

Government Business No. 30—Proceedings on Bill C-56  Madam Speaker, it is great that the Liberals stole our ideas to bring down the price of housing, especially units built for the rental market. We support that. However, does the member not see that out-of-control government spending has resulted in rampant inflation and interest rates that are hitting Canadians hard?

Government Business No. 30—Proceedings on Bill C-56  Madam Speaker, I am proof that there can be redemption. If I can see the light, there is hope for the Liberal Party. It is absolutely clear from one end of Canada to the other that it is a disaster. I totally endorse the removal of the carbon tax from coast to coast to coast.

Government Business No. 30—Proceedings on Bill C-56  Madam Speaker, one of our Conservative members introduced a private member's bill on competition, because we need to have competition in the airline industry, in the banking industry, in telecommunications, in every industry. Canadians are suffering. We support competition. We need to have competition.

Government Business No. 30—Proceedings on Bill C-56  Madam Speaker, no. This is just a bill of part measures. It has a couple of pieces that are good, but it does not really address inflation. One of the causes of inflation is that the Liberals have not changed their reckless spending. They have a $15-billion plant that is costing every Canadian family $1,000 to employ 1,600 temporary foreign workers.

Government Business No. 30—Proceedings on Bill C-56  Madam Speaker, after eight long years of the Liberal Prime Minister, costs have shot up and millions of Canadians are struggling to make ends meet. Housing costs have doubled, rent has doubled, mortgage rates have doubled, grocery prices are soaring and the lineups for food banks are shocking.

Enhancing Transparency and Accountability in the Transportation System Act  Madam Speaker, Canadian travellers are very frustrated with wait times, lost luggage, cancellations and vacations ruined, and the Liberals' solution here seems to be more regulation and more red tape. We have, for example, the international airport in Toronto, Toronto Pearson, which is one of Canada's busiest airports.

Indian Act  Mr. Speaker, as a Métis, an indigenous Canadian, I am happy and pleased to see this bill coming in. It has taken a long time. However, I am concerned about the NDP-Liberals and how they have worked against indigenous people in many respects, such as with natural resources projects.

Indian Act  Mr. Speaker, what I am wondering, and what I want to ask the Bloc Québécois member, is why the Liberals took so long to move second reading of the bill. They introduced Bill C‑38 a year ago. Why are they dragging their feet on this matter? Does this suggest a lack of sincerity and enthusiasm when it comes to indigenous relations?

The Economy  Mr. Speaker, after eight long years of the Prime Minister people are struggling. Tyler bought a home a couple of years ago. Since then his mortgage has shot up from $1,600 to $4,000 a month. He said that he can no longer afford it, and is going to have sell it and downgrade to make his life livable.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, the Liberals, backed by the NDP and the Bloc, are simply out of touch with everyday Canadians. She says that it is about simple economics for people to thrive. Right now, gas is $2.15 a litre, the highest in North America. The member for Kootenay—Columbia just told me that across the line, it is $1.30 Canadian.

Committees of the House  Mr. Speaker, the Bloc Québécois member made a good point when he said that Canada is a small player, and I think that is really terrible. Our country is becoming more and more of a small player. Because of the Liberals and their international policies, we are in this sad and embarrassing situation and we lack power.

Committees of the House  Mr. Speaker, we are hearing a different tone from the member, which is appreciated. Up to this point, he has been saying that we should not be talking about this or that, or that we are wasting time. I do hear from constituents from various backgrounds. Canada is a peace-loving, democratic nation that wants to see the rule of law, that wants see people enjoying freedom and not being malnourished or ill-treated.
