Public Services and Procurement  Mr. Speaker, every word I say is true, and the member knows it. The Prime Minister's arrive scam app is not worth the cost or the corruption. Contractors were paid over $1,000 a day, even though 18% of the invoices for these contracts had no supporting documentation, so we do not even know if the contractors completed the work.

Public Services and Procurement  Mr. Speaker, the Prime Minister's arrive scam app is not worth the cost or the corruption to Canadians. Today, the Auditor General informed us that the arrive scam app, which was supposed to cost $80,000, will now cost Canadians a minimum of $60 million. It gets worse. Due to documentation that the AG says was deleted or destroyed, it could be more than $60 million.

Gender-Based Violence  Mr. Speaker, Canadians across the country are dealing with the result of eight years of the Prime Minister's catch-and-release bail policies. Repeat criminals are out on the streets while law-abiding Canadians are afraid to walk them. The numbers do not lie. Under the former Conservative government, the number of sexual assaults in Canada decreased between 2010 to 2015 and overall, violent crime was down by almost 25%.

Public Services and Procurement  Mr. Speaker, after eight years, the Liberal-NDP government would not know accountability if it was hit over the head with it. Today, the government operations committee heard from the Border Services Agency's head of professional integrity. The lesson is as follows: This is a kangaroo court for the government to investigate its own department.

Public Services and Procurement  Mr. Speaker, after eight years of the Liberal-NDP government, scandal continues to follow it with the ArriveCAN app. Liberals insisted there were no forged resumes. However, it is a fact that almost 40% of the resumes GC Strategies sent in were forged. Liberals insisted security was never compromised, but it is a fact that almost 80% of all contracts did not follow security protocol.

Public Sector Integrity Act  Madam Speaker, it is always a pleasure to rise in this House on behalf of the constituents of Calgary Midnapore in my role as shadow minister for the Treasury Board for His Majesty's loyal opposition. Before I begin, I would like to send a special wish to my husband James, who is currently in the hospital awaiting surgery.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, after eight years of the Liberal-NDP government, it is evident Canadians despise the carbon tax. Premiers are suing the government, first nations are taking the government to court and people are lined up at food banks because they cannot afford this Prime Minister's inflationary carbon tax.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, can he stand with Albertans and stop gaslighting Canadians? Yesterday, CTV reported that basic necessities cost more in Calgary than any other major Canadian city. One Calgarian said, “It's really difficult if you're sacrificing your own meals so that your children can eat because grocery prices are expensive, or if you're rationing on things like heat for your home."

Government Business No. 30—Proceedings on Bill C-56  Madam Speaker, there is an important point here. We both agree that the government has failed on the environment. Everyone in this House knows the government has not met a single target to which it ascribed. However, on our side of the House, we believe that we can have a plan for the environment as well as have industry functioning.

Government Business No. 30—Proceedings on Bill C-56  Madam Speaker, what I really do not appreciate in this House is being lumped into a group. This is absolutely an effort to scapegoat and divert from the Liberals' horrific record in every single area of society and in every single area of the economy. I do not appreciate that at all.

Government Business No. 30—Proceedings on Bill C-56  Madam Speaker, this is what we have seen time and time again. My colleague from Sarnia—Lambton knows this well, since she is the only member of Parliament to have gotten two private members' bills through the House to royal assent. One of them was the palliative care bill. My point is that she and I and everyone in this House see bill after bill with structures, ideas and ideologies, but they never deliver any results.

Government Business No. 30—Proceedings on Bill C-56  Madam Speaker, it is always a pleasure to rise in the House of Commons to speak on behalf of the wonderful constituents of Calgary Midnapore. I will be splitting my time with a fellow Albertan, the member for St. Albert—Edmonton. I am going to tell members something that they know, that their constituents know, that my constituents know and that all of Canada knows.

Enhancing Transparency and Accountability in the Transportation System Act  Madam Speaker, I did not hear a single thing the member said after I heard that he has stood up in the House 3,000 times and is not a member of cabinet. I think, rather than responding to that, I am actually going to start a petition that the member should be brought to cabinet.

Enhancing Transparency and Accountability in the Transportation System Act  Madam Speaker, I think I made it very clear in my speech. I am listening. I am listening to stakeholders that the government has ignored for years, including pilots, passengers, airport authorities, airlines and Canadians. Do we know who has not been listening? It is this member.
