One of the big things that upsets a lot of us modern veterans is that anyone who applied for a claim after April 1, 2006, was deemed to be under the new Veterans Charter. The new Veterans Charter eliminated all pensions. You were given a lump sum for your injuries and basically told to go on your way and leave them alone.
