Proceedings of the House and Committees  Mr. Speaker, I have a question for the member for Manicouagan. Can she give us a concrete example of a situation where the current format might prevent us from moving things forward and properly representing our constituents? I am thinking specifically of not being able to work in committee.

Small Carriers  Mr. Speaker, last weekend, Air Canada announced that it was cancelling its flights to and from Abitibi-Témiscamingue until at least September 8. This is a blatant lack of respect. Our regional leaders are angry, especially when the economic recovery is urgent. I remind the House that Air Canada, to which the government loaned $780 million to help it get through the crisis, is claiming the status of a carrier that includes a regional component.

Proceedings of the House and Committees  Mr. Speaker, I will also take this opportunity to thank my team, starting with my chief of staff, Christian Rivard. He has worked non-stop during the pandemic and I can even share a story with you about that. We practically worked around the clock during the repatriation operations.

Proceedings of the House and Committees  Madam Speaker, I will continue referring to the Colocs to keep today's jovial mood going a little longer. What does the member for Burnaby South think of the Colocs' song entitled Tassez-vous de d'là? I am referring to the Canada emergency wage subsidy that a political party might turn to, as the Liberals and Conservatives seem inclined to do.

Proceedings of the House and Committees  Madam Speaker, I have a question for my esteemed colleague. What does he have to say to business owners who pay themselves dividends, to partnerships, to very small businesses that are not yet eligible for emergency benefit programs and to farmers, especially those in Abitibi—Témiscamingue, who do not have access to those benefits?

Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, I completely disagree with my colleague when he says that this has no impact on our producers. Signing the agreement on May 1 will have a devastating effect. We can try to salvage something for the industry and the producers because they work with the dairy year, which begins on August 1.

Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, that is a good question, and I thank my colleague for asking it. A number of things did indeed fall through the cracks. That happened because the government rushed things and botched the agreement. Maybe they were afraid of the sharks on the U.S. side of the table, as François Gendron, an excellent MNA from Abitibi-Témiscamingue, suggested when he talked to the next generation of farmers at the Fédération de la relève agricole du Québec late last week.

Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, it has now been several weeks since Bill C-4, an act to implement the Agreement between Canada, the United States of America and the United Mexican States, was introduced. It is becoming increasingly clear that this agreement between the United States, Canada and Mexico has some serious consequences for Canada's and Quebec's economies.

Criminal Code  Madam Speaker, I would like to begin by saying that the Bloc Québécois supports the principle of this bill. It is a step in the right direction, especially since the bill repeals the provision that requires a person's natural death to be reasonably foreseeable in order for them to be eligible for medical assistance in dying.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague from Louis-Saint-Laurent for his comments and his question. In response, I would say that white people did play a role in creating the indigenous governance system we are talking about now and that it was not done in accordance with indigenous traditions.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, first of all, I thank my colleague, the parliamentary secretary, for answering the question asked by the member for Louis-Saint-Laurent. I did not have enough time to do so, and his intervention was well done. I appreciate the collaboration. In my view, the use of force is unacceptable.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, first of all, I would like to express my solidarity with the victims of the blockade. I am thinking of producers, small businesses and exporters, among others. Practically speaking, a blockade is not a good solution. However, that is the situation we are facing right now, and we need to be in problem-solving mode.

Relations with Indigenous Peoples  Madam Speaker, I would like to thank the Minister of Indigenous Services for his compassionate speech. Honestly, it is good to feel this compassion, which I felt was quite sincere, here in the House, particularly after the day we have had today. I would just like to know how he felt yesterday as he approached the first nations blockade.
