Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, it gives me great pleasure to rise in the House on behalf of the people of Sackville—Preston—Chezzetcook to speak to the opposition motion. I would like to point out that my voice is not very strong today, so it is going to be much quieter. The Conservatives, in their motion, are making reference to the fall economic statement.

Carbon Pricing  Madam Speaker, that is an important question. Let us talk about what is important for Atlantic Canadians. Earlier this week, I stood here and listened to Conservative MPs from Atlantic Canada who are voting against the Atlantic accord, which would give Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador an opportunity to find prosperity and meet our green goals.

Offshore Renewable Energy Sector  Madam Speaker, I stand today in the House to strongly encourage my Conservative colleagues to support Bill C-49, an important bill for Nova Scotia's future. The proposed amendments in the Atlantic accord would create a framework for the offshore renewable energy sector under the act for the province of Nova Scotia.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I want to thank my colleague for his very interesting and impressive speech. I liked the way he described the opposition leader. He made my day. One thing is important. Can he explain why he thinks the Conservatives are against the Atlantic accord and the changes that we want to make to harness offshore wind energy?

Affordable Housing and Groceries Act  Mr. Speaker, I want to thank my colleague for his question and I also want to thank him for praising our government in bringing forward the GST under housing. That is a very important project and I am glad he is realizing the project is important. We know that their party, when it comes to climate change, cannot see that climate change is extremely important and is walking hand in hand with investments in the economy.

Affordable Housing and Groceries Act  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague for his question. I must say that he represents Mirabel well. He often talks about the Mirabel airport and its land. It is very important to note that our government has been the most effective at working closely with municipalities. Many municipalities across the country have seen great improvements, including in Quebec, a province that is key in this discussion.

Affordable Housing and Groceries Act  Mr. Speaker, I agree that we need to stabilize prices. It is very important. Coming from the education system, I know that many schools have a program to support vulnerable kids. That does not take the point that the hon. member is making that we can do more. I think a national program is something we need to look at.

Affordable Housing and Groceries Act  Madam Speaker, it is always a pleasure to rise in the House to share my views on a bill. This one is extremely important because it deals with housing affordability and the cost of groceries, an essential matter. Throughout the summer months, I too heard clearly from constituents about the price of groceries.

Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Atlantic Accord Implementation Act  Mr. Speaker, let us talk about indigenous people. As my colleague just said a little while ago, indigenous people have been consulted. They will be consulted as we move forward. The chief spoke with the Atlantic caucus a couple of weeks ago and it is 100% in favour of this. The licences going to 25 years is good.

Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Atlantic Accord Implementation Act  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague for her very important question. As she knows, the environment is very important to us, as it is to her party. In fact, all of the parties, except the Conservative Party, understand the need to advance climate action. I have been here since 2015.

Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Atlantic Accord Implementation Act  Mr. Speaker, the simple answer is that Biden does not have to deal with the Conservative Party across the aisle. We do. That is one part of it. The second thing is that all the countries like the United States and the United Kingdom are expanding their mandates to increase the investments in that area.

Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Atlantic Accord Implementation Act  Mr. Speaker, I am extremely pleased to rise today and speak on behalf of my fellow residents of Sackville—Preston—Chezzetcook. I have to say that in listening to the speech from the Conservatives, I am very surprised but not shocked. I will share what they did back in 2007 with the Atlantic accord in Nova Scotia.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague for his speech. As always, his speech was energetic and to the point. I appreciate his speeches. However, I would like to mention the one thing I find problematic. He said that we are wasting money. The difference between the Conservative Party and our party is that we are investing in Canadians.

Government Business No. 26—Amendments to the Standing Orders  Madam Speaker, I regret the fact that I did not get to listen to my colleague's French accent. He speaks very well in French, and I encourage him to continue to do so; that is very important. I appreciated the fact that he listed a number of advantages, as well as underlining some of the disadvantages, of hybrid.

First, I want to say that the chair of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs has done an outstanding job. I have been to the committee a few times, and I have been very impressed.
