Business of the House  Mr. Speaker, I thank my hon. colleague for the Thursday question. Tomorrow, we will continue with second reading of Bill C-57, the Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement implementation act. Next week, our priority will be given to Bill C-34 concerning the Canada Investment Act; Bill S-9, the Chemical Weapons Convention Implementation Act; and Bill C-52 to enact the air transportation accountability act.

Finance  Mr. Speaker, I find the last thing that the hon. Leader of the Opposition said particularly troubling, because it is Canadians who decide who sits in the House; it is not the Leader of the Opposition. Let me be very clear that it is troubling but not surprising, because when he was the minister of democratic reform, he made it harder for 150,000 of Canada's most vulnerable citizens to vote.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, again the member opposite clearly was not listening to the minister when he said that home heating oil exemptions apply right across the country. What is more, folks in Manitoba get a rebate from the price on pollution. Not only are we helping Canadians to fight climate change, which I remind my colleagues is an existential threat to our well-being, we are also helping them with the high cost of living.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, I guess that member did not hear the minister earlier when he said that home heating oil was exempted right across the country. Furthermore, his constituents in Alberta are getting over $1,000 a year in a climate rebate to help fight climate change. If that member and any other member from Alberta really wants to stand up for Canadians, why do they not stand up to Premier Danielle Smith, as they are trying to gut the pensions of Albertans?

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, as a member of Parliament from Ontario, I know that Ontario families get over $1,000 a year for fighting pollution. I guess that Ontario MP wants to take that $1,000 right out of their pockets, which is exactly what he is advocating for. Instead, our government is committed to making sure that we help Canadians not just fight pollution, not just fight climate change, but also deal with affordability.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, the Leader of the Opposition knows that Canadians who live in jurisdictions where a price on pollution applies get over $1,000 a year from the Government of Canada to fight climate change. When it comes to the Conservatives, they want to take that $1,000 out of the pockets of Canadians.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, as a resident of Ontario, I remember the last time that our province elected a common-sense Conservative government. Look what it did to education. Look how it gutted health care. Look at what happened with Walkerton. We know, as Canadians, what happens when we elect common-sense Conservatives.

Business of the House  Mr. Speaker, I do not want to commit to setting anything in stone, but I will commit to it being very likely that this will indeed be the calendar for next week. This afternoon, we will continue report stage debate of Bill C-34 concerning the Canada Investment Act. Tomorrow, we will begin second reading of Bill C-52, the air transportation accountability act.

Carbon Pricing  Mr. Speaker, we understand that the Conservatives are not strong with numbers, but let us put some facts on the table. When it comes to supporting Canadian families, the government has been there at every step along the way. Whether with the Canada child benefit, which puts thousands of dollars each year in the pockets of families such as the one he is talking about in Woodstock, or perhaps the 50% reduction in child care fees, which is going to ensure that this family saves thousands more dollars each year, we have been there for Canadians.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police  Mr. Speaker, as my hon. colleague is well aware, committees are masters of their own domain. They make their own decisions. Clearly, this has always been the case. I hope my colleague will respond responsibly.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police  Mr. Speaker, as the member well knows, committees are in charge of their own business and they make those decisions themselves. If he wants to talk about democratic institutions and criminal investigations, I will remind him that it was a member of the governing Conservatives who was arrested for violating election laws and actually went to jail.

Housing  Mr. Speaker, just last week the member for Sarnia—Lambton repeated some myths about EVs here in this House. She said that they routinely catch on fire and do not work in the winter. I think it is important that we actually stay grounded in the facts of what the government is doing and will continue to do.

Foreign Affairs  Mr. Speaker, I would like to thank my hon. colleague for this very important question. I think everyone in the House is truly concerned about this right now. There is no place for hatred or violence here in Canada. We know that both the Jewish and Muslim communities, both the Israeli and Palestinian communities, are really hurting right now.

Business of the House  Mr. Speaker, I think the hon. member will be very happy with my answer. I hope that happiness will result in him supporting Bill C‑56 and not just giving a speech about it. The bill is good for Quebeckers and Canadians. Tomorrow, we will begin second reading debate of Bill C-38, which deals with new registration entitlements.

Government Priorities  Mr. Speaker, I thank my hon. colleague for his question. The mandate letters for the ministers have not changed since the last election. All of the ministers know exactly what they need to do, and the mandate letters are public.
