Petitions  Mr. Speaker, today I have the honour of presenting a petition that was started by a young woman of my community named Quincy Ross, whose grandfather fought in the Canadian campaign on Juno Beach. The petition calls upon the Government of Canada to oppose the proposed condo development at the Juno Beach D-Day site and intervene in the development by the French property developer by contacting the French government on a diplomatic level.

Diversity and Inclusion  Mr. Speaker, prejudice, barriers and discrimination are a daily reality for too many Canadians, including Black, racialized and indigenous people. As Canada's largest employer, the federal government has a responsibility to lead by example in addressing these challenges. Can the President of the Treasury Board tell us what concrete measures have been taken to strengthen diversity and inclusion in the public service?

350th Anniversary of L'Île-Perrot  Mr. Speaker, it is an incredible feeling to rise today to mark the 350th anniversary of L'Île-Perrot, which is located in my community of Vaudreuil—Soulanges. This is an historical event that goes back to nearly 200 years before Canada was founded. It is indeed a very special celebration, with more than 50 activities, that would not be possible without the vision and dedication of men and women who care about their island, namely Lise Charetier, Catherine Vincent, Olga Casseta, Charles‑Olivier Bellerose‑Bellanger, Daniel Bertolino, Catherine Champagne, Sébastien Daviau, Laurier Farmer, Louise Lapointe, Vicky Sauvé and Christiane Lévesque.

Treatment of Cancer  Mr. Speaker, this week I celebrate 10 years in remission from cancer. Ten years after my last treatment and hearing the words, “Your scans are clear”, I stand here in this House as grateful as ever. I am grateful to Dr. David Hei and the incredible team at the Carbone Cancer Center.

St. Patrick's Day Celebration  Mr. Speaker, the last two years have been difficult for more reasons than one can count, and finding ways to connect and celebrate life with the good people around us has never been so important. That is why I am proud to rise today to say that it is time, once again, for my community of Vaudreuil—Soulanges to become Irish for the day at the annual St.

Emergencies Act  Madam Speaker, my hon. colleague knows full well that this is not over. She knows full well that there are still attempts to ensure that blockades across the country are funded and that they do not stop. What the government needs to be doing right now is ensuring these blockades do not continue and do not reorganize to block the free flow of goods with our neighbours to the south.

Emergencies Act  Madam Speaker, it does not make any difference to me whether it is a confidence vote or not. I am sure it is the best decision we can make as a government to protect Canadians and to help the City of Ottawa and the Province of Ontario, which both declared a state of emergency on their territory.

Emergencies Act  Madam Speaker, I thank my honourable colleague for his staunch defence of his constituents. I have full confidence in members of cabinet, most notably the Minister of Justice, and the actions they are going to take in the coming days and weeks. I know they will be working diligently to ensure that the charter rights of all Canadians will be protected as they carry out the necessary actions to bring back law and order to the city of Ottawa, as they ensure that everything that needs to be taken care of in Ontario is indeed taken care of, and as I stated before, as they ensure that we no longer have blockades blocking key points of entry into our country.

Emergencies Act  Madam Speaker, I want to point out that the honourable member has been very selective in what he has mentioned. The reason we know who the donors are right now is that they were leaked. Somebody hacked the account of the GiveSendGo platform and released that publicly. That is how we know.

Emergencies Act  Madam Speaker, I will be sharing my time with the hon. member for Don Valley North. I rise in the House today on a matter of great importance. Every opportunity to rise in this place is sacred. It is a privilege that is not to be taken lightly, especially when we are called here to talk about a difficult period for Canada and for all those who call our country home.
