Official Languages committee  First of all, Mr. Blaney, I want to congratulate you on your election as chair this morning. I hope that in doing so we have turned a page. I also hope that we will truly dedicate ourselves to the well-being of Canadian francophone and anglophone communities. That is the mandate of the Standing Committee on Official Languages.

If he has evidence that it was someone else who said these things, why does he not name that person? That would exonerate him, I think. If I was the one who had said something, I would not like to see you accused of it.

We are not playing hockey; we are here to represent our country, and we will do it the best we can. You want the National Hockey League to represent our country, and we must respect your wishes.
