Housing  Madam Speaker, the Government of Canada is firmly committed to helping Canadians find an affordable place to call home in these challenging times. We have taken a leadership role, making historic investments in housing after decades of absence in the sector from all levels of government.

Housing  Madam Speaker, I would like to thank my colleague from Port Moody—Coquitlam for her question and for her concern for the well-being of those who are unable to find an affordable place to live. The Government of Canada shares this concern. Far too many Canadians are struggling to keep a roof over their heads, and those particularly affected are our most vulnerable neighbours.

Carbon Pricing  Madam Speaker, again, what this member does not want to say is that he is denying the impacts of climate change, and he will use any opportunity. It is the same with the members of his caucus, to deny, to stick their heads in the sand on the most important thing facing Canadians.

Housing  Madam Speaker, we have lowest deficit in the G7, we have a AAA credit rating and all the member wants to do is cut. Last week, he and the Conservative leader voted against measures that are creating 86,000 new apartments for Canadians, including over 15,000 deeply affordable homes.

Carbon Pricing  Madam Speaker, it is disappointing when members, and it is their right to do so, change the topic of the question they have. I believe the hon. minister was there for four days. What this underlines, and it has been the bent of the Conservative Party this entire Parliament, is its “let it burn” philosophy for Canada.

Housing  Madam Speaker, the challenges we are facing are complex and multi-faceted. There is no simple solution. This is a nationwide issue that can only be solved with close co-operation between partners in every sector and all levels of government. After decades of absence at the housing table, this government has stepped up and assumed a leadership role.

Questions on the Order Paper  Mr. Speaker, with regard to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, or CMHC, with regard to (a), employees set SMART, namely specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound, objectives tied to the responsibilities of their individual positions. Each year managers assess the performance of the employee and assign a performance rating on a 5-point scale, namely does not meet expectations, meets most expectations, meets all expectations, exceeds most expectations, exceeds all expectations.

Questions on the Order Paper  Mr. Speaker, with regard to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, or CMHC, and the National Housing Strategy, and with regard to (a), (b) and (c), please refer to the information available on the National Housing Strategy results website, which can be found at https://www.placetocallhome.ca.

Questions on the Order Paper  Mr. Speaker, with regard to program funding for Infrastructure Canada, or INFC, in response to (a), INFC is not aware of any projects that have been funded by the department since 2015 that have, or are alleged to have, employed illegal labour or projects in which any employee, or individual working in relation to the project, was not paid the minimum hourly wage required by federal or provincial law.

Questions on the Order Paper  Mr. Speaker, the disaster mitigation and adaptation fund program, DMAF, was officially launched in 2018. With respect to part (a), since 2018, the DMAF has received a total of four applications from the City of Windsor, Ontario. With respect to part (b), among the four applications received, two projects were approved.

Committees of the House  Madam Speaker, I rise on the same point of order. Who votes and who does not vote is a matter of Hansard. It is a matter of record. The hon. member did not mention certain members who were or were not here, but mentioning that half of a particular caucus was not there for a vote is a matter of Hansard, and I think that could be mentioned in debate.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I have been listening throughout the day to this debate and to Conservative members talk about the increase in the price of food, which is a concern across the country. Can the hon. member explain why the increase in the price of food is even higher in the United States than it is in Canada, given the fact that it does not have a price on pollution?

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I rise on a point of order. This is the second time the hon. member has done this, and I do not know who he is addressing, but I believe he is suggesting, which he has suggested before and is suggesting again, that hon. members in this place support terrorism. We disagree.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I agree with the hon. member wholeheartedly. The only thing the party on the other side has is slogans. They have no experts who back them up. They have no respected economists or environmentalists who will stand up and say theirs is a reasonable plan or that they have reasonable ideas.
