Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar  Mr. Speaker, one year ago, the Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar opened its doors for the first time in the historic and beautiful town of Hudson. Since doing so, it has served as a sacred place of worship for those of the Sikh faith in my community of Vaudreuil—Soulanges. It has also served as so much more.

Teachers  Mr. Speaker, many members of Parliament remember teachers and support staff who made a positive impact on our lives. Now these people are making a difference in the lives of the next generation. The work they are doing nurtures and strengthens our country's greatest resource: our children.

Refugees  Mr. Speaker, 70 years ago this month, on December 29, 1951, my great-grandmother, Isabel Guirado, and her husband, Antonio, arrived at Pier 21 with their four daughters, who were named Rosita, Maria, Isabel and Carmen. Canadian Net-Zero Emissions Accountability Act  Madam Speaker, I thank my hon. colleague for her work on this bill. However, I have to say that, in Bill C‑215, the Bloc Québécois was fine with a target that was 30% below Canada's 2005 greenhouse gas emissions. Our government voted against that inadequate target and went well beyond what the Bloc suggested.

Canadian Net-Zero Emissions Accountability Act  Madam Speaker, I want to thank my hon. colleague, in all sincerity, for his passion on this issue. It was a pleasure, as he pointed out, serving on that committee with him. The one thing I will say is that we need to do more and we are doing more. I am unbelievably proud of the record investments that we have put in place, and not just for climate mitigation.

Canadian Net-Zero Emissions Accountability Act  Madam Speaker, unfortunately my hon. colleague's question shows that the Conservative Party is still confused over its position on climate change. Before voting against the principle of this bill, the member for Central Okanagan—Similkameen—Nicola said in the House, “It may raise some eyebrows that my party will be supporting this”.

Canadian Net-Zero Emissions Accountability Act  Madam Speaker, I would like to begin by acknowledging that I am addressing the House today from my riding of Vaudreuil—Soulanges, situated on land that has a shared history among the Huron-Wendat Nation, the Mohawk, the Anishinabek Nation, as well as the Six Nations. Today I have the privilege of speaking to Bill C-12, the Canadian net-zero emissions accountability act, and explaining why it is so important to pass it as quickly as possible.

Points of Order  Madam Speaker, one thing that unites Canadians from coast to coast to coast is their love of hockey. It is June, the outdoor rinks in Vaudreuil—Soulanges have long disappeared, and the skates have been replaced by bathing suits. None of that matters, though, because the NHL playoffs are under way.

I therefore am requesting kindly that I be able to redo my S.O. 31.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship  Madam Speaker, we worked closely with our Quebec counterparts on this and many other files. More than 34,000 foreign workers have already arrived in Canada for the 2021 growing season, including more than 14,000 in Quebec. These results speak for themselves, and we will continue to provide Quebec with the workers it needs to support its economic recovery.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship  Madam Speaker, our government doubled the number of temporary foreign workers in Quebec from 11,000 in 2015 to 23,000 in 2019. Last year, despite the pandemic, we brought in the second-most temporary workers ever, and we will be bringing in even more this year. In addition, we have already brought more than 8,500 skilled workers into Quebec this year.
