National Framework on Cancers Linked to Firefighting Act  moved that the bill be read the third time and passed. Madam Speaker, before I begin, I want to take a moment to thank the member for Cloverdale—Langley City for agreeing to switch places with me on the order of precedence so my private member's bill, Bill C-224, an act to establish a national framework for the prevention and treatment of cancers linked to firefighting, could come back to the House for report stage earlier than scheduled.

Criminal Code  Madam Speaker, one thing I have been hearing this evening in some of our debates from my colleagues across the way is that we need to look at this to make sure we take the time to put in place the supports and infrastructure that will be required. That is exactly what this bill would do.

YMCA Youth Exchanges Canada  Madam Speaker, students from Gérard-Filion and Agora high schools in my riding are hosting some great company this week. Students from Nanaimo Christian School in British Columbia are visiting as part of the YMCA's Youth Exchanges Canada program, funded by Canadian Heritage. According to Lyne Marcheterre, from Gérard-Filion School, cultural exchanges like this are important because they give young people a chance to see and understand how other people live.

National Security Review of Investments Modernization Act  Madam Speaker, this issue is really important to my colleague. I would like to know if there is anything else he thinks we should be also including in this bill to make sure this is as strong as it could be.

National Security Review of Investments Modernization Act  Mr. Speaker, my hon. colleague across the way and I actually worked together in a previous Parliament on the industry committee. We tabled a report last Parliament with respect to this issue. I would like to offer the member an opportunity to share with the House some of what we heard when we studied this in the 43rd Parliament that he would like to see implemented in this bill.

Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs  Mr. Speaker, I am pleased to welcome members of the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs, who are here as part of their annual fire chiefs on the Hill days. Over the coming days, many of us will have the opportunity to talk to these fire chiefs about the main issues fire departments across the country are facing, including challenges around recruiting and retaining firefighters when climate and health crises are on the rise.

Gender-Based Violence  Madam Speaker, gender-based violence is one of the most widespread human rights violations of our time. When we look closely, we realize that this type of violence occurs all around us. We see it on television, in music and even in certain interactions among friends. Gender-based violence is any violence, such as sexual assault, committed against an individual because of their gender.

Telecommunications Act  Madam Speaker, if the member wants to ask a question about the subject matter of the bill we are debating, I would be pleased to answer. With respect to language, I speak both official languages and am very proud to do so.

Telecommunications Act  Madam Speaker, I want to thank the member for that question, because that is one area of our domain awareness that we have not focused on a lot. When we think about the air force, army or navy, we usually talk about those three domains, but we do not talk a lot about cyber. We know that is the fourth domain that we need to focus on.

Telecommunications Act  Madam Speaker, unfortunately I do not sit on the public safety committee, so I will not be the person debating it when it eventually gets to committee, but obviously there are opportunities for improvement in any piece of legislation. I look forward to seeing the recommendations that might come from our colleagues in the House when it gets to committee.
