Human Resources committee  Mr. Chairman, like they say, you are pushing it. You would be on a journey of anywhere from two to three to four days, depending on where you're from. While we jokingly respond to something like that, it's a very serious question, Mr. Chairman. All of you would have a very difficult time getting back to Ottawa to pass that legislation.

We have a Canada Labour Code that provides airports with what we need. We would advocate that this bill goes beyond that. So we advocate keeping what we have today with the Canada Labour Code.

Finance committee  I'm surprised you haven't heard it more than that. Suffice it to say that the immediate benefit is to reduce the costs to the airport. There are only so many sources of revenue that airports have available to them. Many of the airports have already committed very publicly to passing on any savings from rent reduction to the airlines and then hopefully on to the passengers.

Thank you for the opportunity to address you today on the importance of Canada's airports to our nation's economic competitiveness. The Canadian Airports Council is the national voice for Canada's airports, with 45 members representing 150 airports, including all national airport system airports.
