Instruction to the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development  Jason Kenney's move to open the eastern slopes to coal mining and exploration will not just change our mountains forever, but will also have severe consequences for Alberta's water basin for generations to come.

National Defence committee  For that reason, I gave notice of motion today to call former minister of defence and former member of Parliament Jason Kenney, who was the minister of defence who first appointed General Vance to the position of chief of the defence staff. We now know, from many media reports, that there were allegations of sexual misconduct at the time of his appointment or immediately thereafter.

Air Transportation  A letter came from premiers across the country where these air traffic control towers are going to be closed. These premiers included Sandy Silver from the Yukon, John Horgan from B.C., Jason Kenney from Alberta, Scott Moe from Saskatchewan, François Legault in Quebec and Doug Ford in Ontario. All these premiers have asked a question, and I believe it is a reasonable ask.

National Defence committee  I would add h) Ray Novak and PCO, i) Gerrit Nieuwoudt and PCO, j) Gerrit Nieuwoudt and Ray Novak, and k) former minister of national defence Jason Kenney or his deputy minister and the Privy Council Office. The rest of the motion would remain the same.

National Defence committee  Thank you very much, Madam Chair. We previously issued an invitation to the former defence minister, Jason Kenney, to appear. I wonder whether we could have a report on whether we received any response to that invitation. Otherwise, I believe we have so many allegations here, stretching across so many years, that it's useful for us to understand what the real commitment was to tackling sexual misconduct within the Canadian military by those who were in charge.

National Defence committee  Having said that, and also in wondering why it took three months—when the norm is about one month—before the change of command happened after General Vance was first named as chief of the defence staff, I would move a motion that, in addition to the names that are listed, under that, the committee invite the following witnesses: that we also add e) and f), and that would be Ray Novak, chief of staff to Stephen Harper when he was prime minister; and Gerrit Nieuwoudt, chief of staff to Jason Kenney when he was minister of defence.

National Defence committee  I suggest that we also bring Ray Novak, who was chief of staff to then prime minister Stephen Harper; and Gerrit Nieuwoudt, who was chief of staff to then defence minister Jason Kenney. I would like to make a point, though, about a word in this motion. I think we should change the word “summon” to the word “invite”. I can understand the reasoning behind summoning Mr.

Canada Pharmacare Act  That is the system we want, and that is the system we need: a national universal system protected against people like Jason Kenney who are determined to undermine it, and a system that will actually save Canadians billions of dollars. There is something else vitally important that we have learned from COVID-19: Canada has the capacity to do this.

National Defence committee  Garrison's motion really is talking about an entirely different time frame. It's talking about Jason Kenney as “the Minister of Defence who originally appointed General Vance”. Then we have a run-on of names that were dealt with in a previous amendment, that are chronologically completely out of step.

National Defence committee  Yes, I do. I move that the committee invite former MP and former minister of defence Jason Kenney to appear and give evidence before this study in his role as the minister who first appointed General Vance to the position of chief of the defence staff, and in light of the fact that we now know that accusations of sexual misconduct and sexual harassment had already been made at the time of his appointment or thereabouts.

Business of Supply  Looking back to the Harper administration, I spent one year as a political adviser to the member for Thornhill, who at the time was minister of state for the Americas. We worked alongside titans of politics including John Baird, Jason Kenney and the former prime minister himself, Stephen Harper. They were different from the current administration in that they were undying in their values. They had a set of core values based on democracy, justice and prosperity for Canada.

Canadian Net-Zero Emissions Accountability Act  When I was in Edmonton, I met with energy workers who were frustrated because they are being sold down the river by the ideology of the Jason Kenney government. We see large international investors walking away from Alberta because of a lack of commitment. The energy workers I met with are retraining themselves for a clean energy future.

Health  Regardless of who they are, where they live and of how much money they have, all Canadians have the freedom to access quality, publicly delivered health care. However, today in Alberta, health care is under attack. Jason Kenney and his Conservative government are making no secret of their attempts to dismantle the public system to which I and so many others owe our lives. In just a few months, Kenney's Conservatives have unilaterally cancelled contracts with doctors and opened the door for the corporatization of care.

Controlled Drugs and Substances Act  I have to chime in on the comment my colleague made about Conservative provincial governments not supporting recovery and treatment for these addictions. Premier Jason Kenney in Alberta named Jason Luan the minister of mental health and addictions, one of the first provincial governments in Canadian history to have a minister in cabinet dedicated to mental health and addictions.

Official Languages  Under the agreement between our two governments, these funds cannot be released without the Government of Alberta providing its share of the funding. Unfortunately, the Conservative government of Jason Kenney has made Campus Saint-Jean one of the victims of cuts to education. Our government has asked the Alberta government to reconsider. The Minister of Official Languages wrote to Premier Kenney asking that his government live up to its end of the agreement, but today it remains silent.
