After eight years of this Liberal government, we have crime that is essentially, for all intents and purposes, out of control.

After eight years of the Liberal government, we are continually left with the same rhetoric; it is all talk, no results. Here is the problem: Car thefts are rising, and now the government says it is going to have a summit.

Petitions  Mr. Speaker, it is always a pleasure to rise on behalf of the people of Kamloops—Thompson—Cariboo. One of the things I really appreciate, regardless of whether I believe in a cause or not, is civic engagement. This particular instance of civic engagement recently came to me from about 185 of my constituents, who put forward the petition I have in my hand.

Government Priorities  Mr. Speaker, auto thefts are up a striking 34.1% after eight years of the Liberal-NDP government. In my home community of Kamloops, there was recently a car chase that ended with an RCMP cruiser getting rammed, and everyone can imagine our shock when the car was stolen. The NDP-Liberal government just is not worth the cost when it was comes to one's own property and safety.

Before I begin, I want to recognize the life of a very significant individual in my riding, Bob Gieselman, who passed away recently. Bob devoted a lot to the people of Kamloops—Thompson—Cariboo and around in service to the community.

Questions Passed as Orders for Returns  With regard to compensation for executives at Correctional Service Canada (CSC): (a) how many and what percentage of CSC executives received bonuses (or similar types of performance awards), broken down by year since 2016; (b) what was the total amount paid out in bonuses for executives, broken down by year since 2016; (c) what criteria is used to determine the level of bonuses the CSC executives receive; and (d) what specific factors are considered when determining the level of bonuses awarded to CSC executives, including how the number of lockdowns or the percentage of inmates in certain security levels are taken into account?

Questions on the Order Paper  With regard to the prison needle exchange program at facilities operated by Correctional Service Canada, since 2018 and broken down by year and by correctional institution: (a) how many instances occurred where an inmate used a needle to assault (i) guards or other CSC employees, (ii) fellow inmates; (b) how many instances occurred where needles distributed, or meant for distribution, under the program have gone missing; and (c) how many instances occurred where needles were discovered as contraband items?
