Questions on the Order Paper  With regard to the conditions of licence for marine finfish aquaculture in British Columbia and the licence issued to Cermaq for its aquaculture farm at Bawden Point: (a) what were the dates of all licenses issued to Cermaq to operate its farm at Bawden Point since January 2015; (b) was Cermaq ever found in violation of the licenses it was issued and, if so, what are the reasons for breach of license; (c) were the licenses issued to Cermaq in (a) amended to allow for higher sea lice thresholds; (d) what are the details of all amendments in (c); and (e) was Cermaq fined or otherwise reprimanded for violations of the licenses it was issued?

Fisheries and Oceans  Mr. Speaker, open-net fish farms pollute our waters and impact food security. In 2022 alone, more than 800,000 herring were killed because of open-net fish farm activity. Now, the B.C. premier says the social licence for these fish farms has expired. The Liberals promised to get these farms out of the water by 2025 with a real jobs plan, yet so far there has been nothing, so I will ask again, where is the plan so coastal communities, workers and first nations are not left behind?

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, at this point, I normally say that I appreciate working alongside my colleague, but I am very adamant that I need to tell the truth at all times in this chamber. If the Conservative member is concerned about first nations communities, will he commit to supporting the Assembly of First Nations' call for an additional $30 billion in climate adaptation funding for communities?

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, there is one thing that I am not hearing being talked about and that is missing from this motion. This is making sure that big oil pays its share. We know that Canada's five biggest oil and gas companies had $38 billion in combined profits last year, and they are on track to make record profits once again in 2023.

Canadian Coast Guard  Mr. Speaker, in British Columbia, two people died, and one is still missing at sea because their vessel could not be found. It was discovered that life-saving, direction-finding technology has been unavailable. Those on the water deserve to know that help will be there to find them.

Government Business No. 31—Proceedings on Bill C-50  Mr. Speaker, we know that workers are asking to be part of the process of a necessary transition. We are in a climate crisis and a transition is required. What they are asking for is to be part of the discussion. Jobs are being lost. There are 45,000 jobs in the energy sector that have already been lost, with at least 1,500 more being lost this year.

Government Business No. 31—Proceedings on Bill C-50  Madam Speaker, I was pausing a little and reflecting on what question I wanted to ask because I have so many. I am sure people can empathize that it can be very frustrating sitting in the House of Commons when we are in a climate crisis. We are experiencing the impacts all around us.

Government Business No. 31—Proceedings on Bill C-50  Madam Speaker, I had the privilege of attending the Standing Committee on Natural Resources meeting today. I was quite eager to participate in that committee and to hear from witnesses about the important work on how we can best move forward to have an energy transition. I was quite frankly surprised to see there is nothing happening in that committee.

Public Safety  Mr. Speaker, a 12-year-old boy in British Columbia has died by suicide, linked to cyber-bullying and sextortion. This is a tragedy, with the most common targets of this criminal behaviour being children. Despite this, Conservatives do not even want to see big tech regulated responsibly.

Canada Labour Code  Madam Speaker, I am not hearing the answer I was hoping I would hear in the member's response to my colleague's question. Is the member saying that he feels that replacement workers are a benefit to workers? I am not understanding what his stance is, exactly, on this bill, or if he and his Conservative colleagues will be voting in favour of this bill to ensure that protections are in place to support workers, have fair working conditions and have a fair wage.

Canada Labour Code  Mr. Speaker, the member started her speech by talking about the importance of improving labour relations as a priority of the government. I am curious if the member could please share the ways the leader of the Conservative Party has shown this priority. Was it when he passed laws to make it harder for unions to win better pay for workers?

Canada Labour Code  Mr. Speaker, as the member mentioned, like British Columbia, where I live, Quebec has had similar legislation for a long time. Can the member tell us a little bit more about the impact this law would have on people?
