Attack in London, Ontario  Mr. Speaker, on Sunday evening a Muslim family in London left their house to do what so many families regularly do during this pandemic, go on a family walk. However, because of a brutal terrorist attack, a nine-year-old boy, the only survivor of this senseless attack, is without his mother, father, sister and grandmother.

Questions on the Order Paper  With regard to Global Affairs Canada and its anti-racism training documents which state that wearing blackface is an overt act of white supremacy, as reported in the Toronto Sun on April 8, 2021: (a) who approved this training; (b) how much did this training cost; (c) was this contract sole-sourced, and, if so, what was the rationale for sole sourcing this contract; (d) who participated in this training; (e) what was the rationale for the department offering this training; (f) is it the official view of the government that wearing blackface is an overt act of white supremacy; (g) are officials who provide anti-racism training permitted to discuss the Prime Minister’s history of wearing blackface and its impact on racism in their training, and, if not, why are there restrictions against discussing the Prime Minister’s history; (h) how often did this training occur and on what dates; and (i) who provided this training?

Budget Implementation Act, 2021, No. 1  Mr. Speaker, the problem is that, even just yesterday, our shadow minister asked the government about its plan, how many jobs it would create and when the budget would be balanced. The government had no answers to any of those questions. The unfortunate thing is that Liberals can call it a plan, but they really do not have the answers to very basic questions.

Budget Implementation Act, 2021, No. 1  Mr. Speaker, this is part of the problem with the government. It makes a lot of announcements. It talks about how many billions of dollars it spent. It actually has thrown a lot of money around, but the problem is actual results. How many jobs have been created, and how much has this helped the environment?

Budget Implementation Act, 2021, No. 1  Mr. Speaker, I thank the member for her question on support for our energy sector and the different types of energy sectors there are across Canada. The fact is that we do not have to shut down one industry to support another. We can continue to support the different aspects of our Canadian energy sector.

Budget Implementation Act, 2021, No. 1  Mr. Speaker, as always, it is an honour to rise in this House on behalf of my constituents of Edmonton Mill Woods. In the lead-up to this budget, the longest lead-up ever, as we went over two years without a budget, there were dozens of news stories and trial balloons talking about how innovative this budget was going to be.

COVID-19 in Alberta  Mr. Speaker, my colleague is quite right. The Prime Minister continues to make these very big announcements, take credit for things and have no regrets regarding his failed leadership on this pandemic. What he does not see is the reality on the ground. People in my riding of Edmonton Mill Woods have lost their jobs.

COVID-19 in Alberta  Mr. Speaker, what I am saying is that what everyone agrees with and all experts are saying is that vaccines will help us get past this pandemic. It is what other countries have used. It is what other countries had back in January and February. We can see that in the United States.

COVID-19 in Alberta  Mr. Speaker, the member is comparing Alberta's numbers with other jurisdictions right across North America, and Alberta is in this position today because it did not have the vaccines it needed. It did not have the vaccines available to give to Albertans. As soon as Alberta received the vaccines, the rate at which they went into the arms of Canadians and Albertans was very high.

COVID-19 in Alberta  Mr. Speaker, I will be splitting my time with the member for Edmonton—Wetaskiwin. It is a privilege to speak on behalf of the constituents of Edmonton Mill Woods. My constituents, like those right across Canada, are having a very difficult time coping with the current spike in COVID-19 cases and the accompanying lockdowns.

Economic Statement Implementation Act, 2020  Madam Speaker, the member says the Liberals have made many announcements but the results just are not there. That is most pronounced in the vaccine procurement problem, where they made many announcements, and Canadians feel that they have heard we are getting millions of vaccines but as of right now, we are behind many other countries with our vaccine plan.

Economic Statement Implementation Act, 2020  Madam Speaker, the member is absolutely right. Just talking about spending and giving out numbers does not actually help. What would be better is telling Canadians about results, and to have results-based spending. A part of getting to that solution would be to have the Auditor General look at that spending.
