Typically, on a day-to-day basis, I sent her many e-mails. I believe my first action when I received the report was to print it for Ms. Block.

I indicated that the report had been received from the clerk's office. She said she would like to review it at her home over the weekend. Because she cannot print things from her BlackBerry, nor review such a lengthy report on her BlackBerry, she indicated she would like it sent to her home account so she could print it.

However, I did not grasp the gravity of my error and the absolute critical lapse of my judgment until the next morning, when Mrs. Block called me at my home to indicate that it would be treated as a matter of privilege.

I was asked by numerous people, “Have you found a lawyer to ensure that you know your responsibilities as a witness in front of a committee and houses of Parliament?” I said no. His name was the first to be suggested by a few friends.
