Petitions  Mr. Speaker, in December 2014, Cassandra Kaake was murdered. She was 31 weeks pregnant with her preborn daughter, Molly. Molly matters. I have a petition of over 100 people from my constituency and the town of Westlock who feel that this needs to be amended. Our current Criminal Code has no protection for the preborn human.

Canada Labour Code  Mr. Speaker, as this is my first time to give a speech in the House, I would like to begin by thanking my wife and children for being a solid support behind me. I would also like to thank my campaign team, specifically, my parents and my siblings, who put in countless hours on my campaign, my best friend Dennis, who set up way too many signs and put about 6,000 kilometres on his pickup truck, driving around the vast riding of Peace River—Westlock, and my campaign manager John for helping me win this seat.

Canada's Contribution to the Effort to Combat ISIL  Mr. Speaker, my colleague across the way has spoken eloquently on the world view and ideology and how they affect the decisions we make. It was interesting to see earlier today his decision on a vote for a motion that we had in terms of investment. That was interesting, and I just wanted to point that out.

Canada's Contribution to the Effort to Combat ISIL  Mr. Speaker, as a Canadian, I am always proud of our efforts around the world. I am proud of our ability to bring in refugees. I am always proud to say that we are helping the most vulnerable. However, yesterday in committee, we were informed that almost none of the refugees we have brought in have come from any of the camps that we see all the time on television.

Dave Chatters  Mr. Speaker, I rise in the House today to pay tribute to a former member of Parliament, Mr. Dave Chatters. Dave served as a member of Parliament for 12 years for the ridings of Athabasca and Peace River--St. Paul, from 1993 until 2006. Sadly, on January 25, Dave passed away at the age of 69 from pancreatic cancer.

Infrastructure  Mr. Speaker, as the deputy critic for rural affairs, I am concerned with the direction the government is going in. Instead of standing up and supporting all Canadians, the government is pitting rural communities against urban centres. It is signalling that infrastructure funds are to be spent entirely in big cities.

Income Tax Act  Madam Speaker, it was great to hear that the member is quite concerned about families and seniors. This is something that I have heard much about at the door. I have met with seniors groups and have spent time in seniors care facilities. I got to hear a lot about what they had to say.

Agriculture  Mr. Speaker, I am proud to stand in this place for the first time to represent the hard-working riding of Peace River—Westlock, and I would like to thank my constituents for the honour they have bestowed upon me to represent them in Ottawa. Peace River—Westlock is built on the foundation of farming.
