Business of the House  Madam Speaker, there have been discussions among the parties and, if you seek it, I believe you will find unanimous consent for the following motion: That, notwithstanding any standing order, special order, or usual practice of the House, when Bill C-70, An Act respecting countering foreign interference, is called later today, it shall be disposed of as follows: (a) the report stage motion in amendment, standing on the Notice Paper in the name of the Minister of Public Safety, Democratic Institutions and Intergovernmental Affairs, be deemed adopted; (b) the bill, as amended, be deemed concurred in at report stage with a further amendment; (c) the bill shall be taken up immediately at the third reading stage and a member of each recognized party and a member of the Green Party each speak for not more than 10 minutes followed by five minutes for questions and comments, provided, if required, that Government Orders be extended to complete the said stage of the Bill; and (d) at the expiry of the time provided for the debate at third reading later today, or when no member wishes to speak, whichever is earlier, any proceedings before the House shall be interrupted, and in turn every question necessary for the disposal of the said stage of the bill shall be put forthwith and successively, without further debate or amendment, and a recorded division shall be deemed requested and deferred until tomorrow after Oral Questions.

Questions on the Order Paper  Mr. Speaker, with regard to the final contract awarded by the government to the CIMA engineering firm by the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority, WDBA, for the construction of the Gordie Howe International Bridge, with respect to part (a), the total value of the contract is $10,774,981.00.

Questions on the Order Paper  Mr. Speaker, with regard to the Department of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities and the costs associated with its creation, as legislated in division II of the 2023 fall economic statement, with respect to parts (a) and (b), there will be no incremental costs incurred by the government as a result of the change proposed in division 11 of Bill C-59, Fall Economic Statement Implementation Act, 2023.

Pandemic Prevention and Preparedness Act  Mr. Speaker, I am pleased to rise today with respect to a private member's bill tabled by the member for Beaches—East York, who, in addition to being a very good member of Parliament, is an excellent podcast producer as well. On a serious note, the member has put forward a number of bills in the time we have served together.

Business of Supply  Madam Chair, I have been hearing a question to the Minister of Health again. I have been listening with interest throughout this debate, and I take the Conservatives at their word that they are concerned about the opioid crisis. They are seeing it in their communities, as we are seeing it in all of our communities, affecting people across the community.

Business of Supply  Mr. Speaker, I will be speaking for a bit before I direct some questions to the ministers. No Canadian should have to choose between paying for prescription drugs or putting food on the table. Unfortunately, many are still forced to make this impossible decision. It is why our government continues to work with provinces, territories and stakeholders to ensure that Canadians have better access to the drugs they need.

Questions on the Order Paper  Mr. Speaker, with regard to the housing accelerator fund, with respect to part (a), in processing parliamentary returns, the government applies the Privacy Act and the principles set out in the Access to Information Act, and as there are no agreements in place for applications that remain unfunded through the housing accelerator fund, the information has been withheld on the grounds that it qualifies for an exemption under operations of government.

Questions on the Order Paper  Mr. Speaker, with regard to the completion date on the Gordie Howe International Bridge project being delayed until September 2025, with respect to part (a) no, the delay is not related to disputes with Valard Construction. With respect to part (b), the additional money, approximately $685 million, is largely related to COVID-19 impacts project-wide and is not assigned to any one specific component of the Gordie Howe International Bridge project.

Questions on the Order Paper  Mr. Speaker, with regard to the Gordie Howe International Bridge project, with respect to part (a), the estimated cost to taxpayers associated with the new completion date is $507 million, which will ensure the Gordie Howe International Bridge project is delivered to Canadians safely, responsibly and in a timely manner.
