Committees of the House  Mr. Speaker, as a veteran myself, I am honoured and privileged to present a supplemental report on behalf of the common-sense Conservative members of the veterans affairs committee. This historic report on the experience of women veterans has long been overdue and covers many important issues that face the women who answer the call of service.

Royal Canadian Air Force  Mr. Speaker, on April 1, the Royal Canadian Air Force celebrated its centennial anniversary. This anniversary recognizes not only the importance of the Royal Canadian Air Force to Canada, it also recognizes all those who have served and sacrificed. Moose Jaw, home to 15 Wing, was originally part of the British Commonwealth air training plan, generally considered the greatest air crew training program of all time.

Public Complaints and Review Commission Act  Mr. Speaker, the member is a close colleague of mine in Regina—Lewvan, home of the Depot, which I am very intimately connected with. How does my colleague see the future of the Depot? Does he have any concerns with regard to the Depot in his riding?

Taxation  Mr. Speaker, after nine years, the NDP-Liberal Prime Minister is not worth the hunger or the homelessness. Nearly half of Canadians are paying more than a third of their paycheque for food. The Moose Jaw Food Bank helped nearly 8,000 households in 2023, up 58%. It is time to give Canadians back their dignity.

Carbon Pricing  Madam Speaker, after nine years of the NDP-Liberal government, the Prime Minister is just not worth the cost. Food banks are on the brink. Demand is up and donations are down. The Moose Jaw food bank helped nearly 8,000 households in 2023, up 58%. Moose Jaw has a population of 33,000 people.

Committees of the House  Mr. Speaker, through you, I would ask my colleagues across the aisle to hear what we are saying. We are talking about the issues that those who are serving or have served are bringing forward. They are not just bringing them to us, they are bringing them to the Liberal government and asking for a change.

Committees of the House  Mr. Speaker, I would like to point out that on military bases, a lot of the housing is substandard. What I believe our party is asking for right now is upgrades, for the housing to be improved so people's quality of life is improved. It is not just military members living in these accommodations; their families are also living in them.

Committees of the House  Mr. Speaker, I would like to acknowledge my colleague from across the hallway. We have had some great chats walking to our offices. I do not think we have ever shared a coffee or a donut, but that could happen. I was thinking about the question the member posed to my colleague earlier on.

Committees of the House  Mr. Speaker, as we gather here in the House, I would like to take the opportunity to paint a picture of the issue brought forth by the Conservative shadow minister for national defence concerning the recent rent increase in military housing. Imagine a brave active military member serving at the arms depot in Dundurn or at 15 Wing air base in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

Questions on the Order Paper  With regard to the Department of National Defence issuing a posting for two journalists to engage in "role playing services" to prepare its spokespeople for challenging media questions: (a) what is the pay associated with such postings; (b) who authorized the decision to spend money on role playing services; and (c) why was the money in (a) not spent on investments in the Canadian Armed Forces?

Fall Economic Statement Implementation Act, 2023  Mr. Speaker, this is right up my alley as a former mayor of the City of Moose Jaw, where we attracted over $1.3 billion, going aggressively to the open market to attract business, to build a school where there would be a community surrounding it. We had no help from the Canada Infrastructure Bank.

Fall Economic Statement Implementation Act, 2023  Mr. Speaker, that is a very interesting question. The negative impacts of bad policy from the Liberal government are affecting the training hours for preparation for our pilots. That really puts us on our back foot. Our preparedness and readiness to defend our country is diminishing.

Fall Economic Statement Implementation Act, 2023  Mr. Speaker, the challenges that are facing my riding include an increase in food bank usage. People are absolutely shocked. They do not know where their spending power is going. They do not know where their money is going. It is insidious. The carbon tax and the inflation that the Liberal government has imposed on people are a train coming at us.
