In response to part (a), for this request, the CRA understands “taxpayer” to mean a Canadian resident tenant, either individual or corporation, or an agent acting on behalf of the non-resident, held liable, as a result of an audit, for failing to withhold from residential or commercial rent an amount required under part XIII of the Income Tax Act, i.e., when paid or credited to a non-resident.

The CRA has processed a total of 37,593 bare trust returns containing a schedule 15, beneficial ownership information of a trust.

Finance  Mr. Speaker, my Conservative colleague's comments are rather contradictory, to say the least. He is suggesting that we cut benefits. He wants us to spend less. What should we do exactly? Should we drop the dental care benefits when they are helping not only seniors, but also young people and persons with disabilities who need it the most?

Finance  Mr. Speaker, it is true that people are struggling. I have visited people in my riding, too. Across the province and all across Canada, we are meeting with people at food banks and with our partners. We just went through a pandemic, which led to abnormally high inflation. It is coming down precisely because we are making the right decisions and focusing our investments and assistance on the people who need it most.

Housing  Mr. Speaker, while my colleague is hooting and hollering as practice for his next appearance on Infoman, we are putting real programs in place for young people. I have the 2023 figures for the FHSA, which helps young people save for their down payment. More than 645,000 young people have signed up, and they have saved $2.6 billion.
