We will see how matters go, but some tools are being offered under the pilot project. There is a horizontal contribution across the country in places where it might be more difficult to learn or practise the second language.

Official Languages committee  For my part, as regards our little initiative, unlike those of much larger partners than we are, the fact that this is a horizontal contribution means that the scope is much greater and can produce better results.

Obviously, that will depend on the government's priorities and whether there is any additional funding.

In the instance you mentioned in Regina, where they don't have many opportunities to speak French, let's say, that's exactly the reason why we want to provide tools.

The universities that submitted their applications wanted to make the commitment. In the case of the Université de Moncton, we went to the university to see whether those people were interested in taking part in the project, but they were not.
