Transport committee  I'm waiting, as you are, to see what the alarm is for. I would suggest—

June 17th, 2021Committee meeting

The Clerk of the Committee

Transport committee  No. We normally all receive a message on our emergency messaging system, so it should pop up on all of our devices, although normally, if there is an alarm, we would expect everyone to vacate the building.

June 17th, 2021Committee meeting

The Clerk

Transport committee  No, we only have four witness groups on Thursday, so we could bring back the Railway Association of Canada if they are available that day. I expect we would have a regular two-hour meeting. If we can add some time, we will. Otherwise, we can add about 10 to 15 minutes to tonight's meeting.

June 15th, 2021Committee meeting

The Clerk of the Committee

Transport committee  I'm told that Mr. Rogers is still cutting in and out, but I guess they will try to work with it.

May 6th, 2021Committee meeting

The Clerk

Transport committee  Yes, I believe it's a connectivity or a sound issue with Mr. Rogers' connection. The sound quality was too poor for them to provide interpretation. You may have to go to a different speaker and come back because they aren't able to provide interpretation right now, and we have to be able to provide interpretation.

May 6th, 2021Committee meeting

The Clerk

Transport committee  It appears that they're not getting a great signal. It may be a connectivity issue on your cellular network. I guess it keeps dropping out a little bit, and it's just not quite good enough for them to provide interpretation at this time.

May 6th, 2021Committee meeting

The Clerk

Transport committee  I guess the impact would be, if the committee wants to begin looking at draft reports on Tuesday, we would simply bump it back and move the first meeting that we were thinking of for Ukraine Flight 752 into June, and everything else would pretty much stay the same. We would just focus on reports, except for next week's visit with the ministers.

May 6th, 2021Committee meeting

The Clerk

Transport committee  The issue is that one of the witnesses we were looking at bringing in currently resides in the U.K., and we have very late evening sittings on Tuesdays. He would have required technical assistance and support, and he would not have been able to get IT support. I guess it would been around midnight where he is.

May 6th, 2021Committee meeting

The Clerk of the Committee

Transport committee  Sure: That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(1)(a), an order of this committee do issue for a copy of all relevant documents relating to the agreement signed with ITC holdings regarding the Lake Erie Connector, including, but not limited to, the agreement itself, all correspondence between ITC Holdings and the CIB, any appendices, terms of a repayment schedule, the Bank’s evaluation of the project and any other relevant documents in an unredacted form within 20 days of the adoption of this order.

May 4th, 2021Committee meeting

The Clerk of the Committee

Transport committee  It entirely depends on how many documents. It's like the question, “how long is a piece of string?” It depends on how many pages of documents we receive. It depends on whether the documents are provided in both official languages, which they often are by departments. This is not a government department, but it operates under the Official Languages Act.

April 29th, 2021Committee meeting

The Clerk

Transport committee  Actually, if I could, I was going to request that Mr. Fillmore repeat his wording, because I didn't quite get the whole amendment for that. Ms. Vice-Chair, you'll see the hands are up.

April 29th, 2021Committee meeting

The Clerk

Transport committee  If Mr. Fillmore could reread his amendment, then you can just direct debate. Thank you.

April 29th, 2021Committee meeting

The Clerk

Transport committee  We would have them translated if they weren't received in both official languages.

April 29th, 2021Committee meeting

The Clerk

Transport committee  If I could just jump in here for one second, it seems that we've lost the connection with the chair. I'm going to ask you, Ms. Kusie, as vice-chair, if you can assume the chair and direct the debate at present. Just for the edification of all members, we would need unanimous consent to withdraw an amendment.

April 29th, 2021Committee meeting

The Clerk

Transport committee  No, they have to actually connect through the Zoom meeting. We don't have a phone-in option at this time. IT is on the phone with him right now, and they're working on the problem. Hopefully, they'll get him in soon; otherwise, we'll have to have him back next week.
