Canadian Heritage committee  It should, because it does in my province. It would be higher. It could even be 80% to 20% against Bill C-18, because they don't have two people on staff right now. I want to go to Le Devoir. Mr. Myles, you've already made the agreements with MSN, Apple TV+, Meta and Google. How much did you reap out of those, since you have said you've been profitable for the last six years?

Canadian Heritage committee  I will interject, because I'm short on time. We're hearing from the PBO that there's $329 million thanks to Google and Meta. Here you are, in front of the committee, not telling us what your deal is. It's all in secret. You're one of the biggest newspapers, if not the biggest, in Quebec.

I've watched the last couple of years major organizations like Torstar buy small and medium companies, and then close them a year later—side deals—so they take their competitors out just like that. We've seen it in the Maritimes, and we've seen it here in Ontario.

Canadian Heritage committee  Madam Chair, I had a motion that was defeated maybe a week ago on this same issue. I was concerned by the comments made by Minister Hussen today about demanding money be paid back. I assume that was the $133,822 that he was talking about. That tells me that the money has not been paid back, and that is a concern to me.

Canadian Heritage committee  I would move the amendment.

Canadian Heritage committee  I move that we see not only the Minister of Canadian Heritage come to committee, but also the current chair of the CRTC, Mr. Ian Scott, come before the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage. Now, the caveat is that Mr. Scott could leave anytime because his term is actually up.

Canadian Heritage committee  You're four weeks away from that, and there are eight other board members.... Have you talked to your board about who's coming back and who's not? You mentioned earlier that you feel now is not the time for a complete whitewash of the board, or even those who are in charge, like Scott Smith, so you must have thought about this.
