Indigenous and Northern Affairs committee  I could respond. Yes, I've really seen in my work over many years that colonialism definitely has had an impact on the lives of the Nishnawbe Aski people. I can speak only for our own people, because that's where I've worked most of my life. I think that working together in the last few years with various levels of government and other groups to create programs has been one of the main things we've done to try to ensure that everybody knows where we're coming from, and that we have a voice, whatever project we're working on, especially in the area of virtual emergency care, which was started about four years ago.

Indigenous and Northern Affairs committee  I can probably speak to that. I worked as a health director for 10 years, when I first went to KO. That was one of the biggest issues we experienced. There were a lot of issues around travel and being able to be heard, I guess, in the area of providing escorts, especially for the elderly and young children, and also for people who were suffering mental health issues, and those kinds of things.

Indigenous and Northern Affairs committee  Yes. There were established partnerships from KO eHealth. KO has been in existence for about 30 years already, so we do have an established relationship with some of the communities. I would say there are about 26, at least for those we currently have telemedicine sites in. Telemedicine was established about 20 years ago.
