Health committee  Since China scheduled fentanyl as a finished drug in 2019, CBSA has seen the number of seizures with finished fentanyl decrease dramatically. On the other hand, the seizure of precursors has increased. We're seeing increased seizures of precursors. We've also seen an increase in seizures of labs—in super labs.

Health committee  That's not all that happened. We are continuing to intercept huge quantities at points of entry and are taking action not only locally and nationally, but also internationally, on the basis of information we receive.

The Department of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness administers several areas. The Canada Border Services Agency has already implemented several measures, the most recent of which was creating a targeting centre for opiates, which we expect will yield rapid results.
