Agriculture committee  To add on to that, the costs of production are going up and our returns are declining, so farmers have less money in their pockets to address these issues that we need to address to fight climate change. One thing I also want to point out is that the burden on associations, growers and industry to contribute to research keeps going up.

Agriculture committee  I can take that one. I'm Emily Lutz, the executive director here to support Jeff in his questions. Speaking directly to that, the FVGC is looking for an $8-million increase for the PMC. That directly translates into the ability to do more projects and collect more data. What's important to recognize, too, is that the best data helps us address increasingly complex issues, and some of that is also driven by climate change.
