Incident on Rainbow Bridge  Madam Speaker, it was exactly 24 hours ago that we came into this chamber, shaken by the news we were hearing on the television and radio that there had been an explosion on the Rainbow Bridge. There were words and accusations of terrorism in the air. We did not know much, but as we gathered here, I was grateful that the Prime Minister told us that he was seeking answers, that authorities were trying to find out what had happened.

Canada Labour Code  On top of that, ammonium nitrate is being transported through the Port of Québec. Ammonium nitrate is a product used in fertilizer manufacturing, but it can be highly explosive under certain conditions. The Valero refinery is right across from the Port of Québec in Lévis. A simple spark could lead to a disaster that could extend all the way to Lévis. Hiring scabs, also known as replacement workers to sound better, poses a real danger to the workers themselves, to the surrounding population and to Quebec's economy.

Public Safety  Mr. Speaker, we have just heard media reports of a terrorist attack with an explosion at the Niagara crossing of the Canada-U.S. border. At least two people are dead, and one person is injured. It is the principal responsibility of the government to protect the people.

Public Safety  Speaker, this is obviously a very serious situation in Niagara Falls. There was a vehicle explosion at the Rainbow Bridge crossing. I have been briefed by the NSIA and the Minister of Public Safety. CBSA, RCMP and Transport Canada are all fully engaged in providing the necessary support.

Public Safety  Mr. Speaker, the situation in Niagara is very serious. There was a vehicle explosion at the Rainbow Bridge border crossing. We are still talking with authorities and keeping the U.S. involved through the Canada Border Services Agency, Transport Canada and the RCMP.

Fall Economic Statement  What does one do? What did we do as a country? Can we remember? It was a long time ago when the Halifax explosion occurred. I know the hon. member will remember the stories of that time. Obviously, he was not there then, but within months of that explosion, the Government of Canada and the Government of Nova Scotia built housing for thousands of people because it was an emergency.

Public Services and Procurement  Speaker, the government has been in power for eight years, and there is a profound dissonance between those alleged expectations and what they have been delivering and doing these eight long years. Arrive scam hearings have been explosive. This week, senior government officials accused each other of lying because the Liberal minister wanted someone else's head on a plate. This government is destroying trust in our public servants, and the Prime Minister is clearly not worth the cost.

Foreign Affairs  Canada's arms exports to Israel are at record high levels, with over $20 million exported last year. A significant percentage of our exports include explosives and components related to military aircraft. There is the risk that they have been used in the bombings of refugee camps, hospitals and the killing of entire families. Canada used to be a leader for peace, in Sinai, in Cyprus and at the UN.

Canadian Heritage committee  Julian's motion, an addition, which is that at the end of his motion, it would read: That the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage affirms that the CBC published a false headline based on disinformation from Hamas, a criminal terrorist organization, that incorrectly stated that Israel was responsible for the explosion at al-Ahli hospital in Gaza that resulted in the deaths of innocent civilians. And that, the committee call on the CBC to apologize to the Jewish community and all Canadians for spreading this dangerous disinformation and to publicly correct the record and to report this finding to the House of Commons.

Canadian Heritage committee  You pointed out—and the Conservatives have to admit—that there was a series of articles in the evolution following the explosions at the hospital that clearly indicated, as more information came out, where that information was coming from, whether it was the U.S. or the United Nations. However, if somebody says they still don't like seeing that CBC article in the archives, even though CBC has updated it with new articles, what is open to that Canadian to do?

Canadian Heritage committee  After the first piece, there was a second piece, updated, that said: Gaza's Hamas-run Health Ministry said an Israeli airstrike Tuesday hit a Gaza City hospital packed with wounded and other Palestinians seeking shelter, killing hundreds. However, the Israeli military said it had no involvement in the explosion, which it says was caused by a misfired rocket from the Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad. I think it speaks for itself.

Canadian Heritage committee  On October 17, the CBC published a false headline based on dangerous disinformation that incorrectly stated that Israel was responsible for the explosion at the hospital in Gaza that resulted in the deaths of innocent civilians. If you don't have it, I have it right here. That is the headline. It says, “Hundreds killed in Israeli airstrike on Gaza City hospital, Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza says”.

Human Resources committee  I think in all instances, unions would welcome a managed introduction of new technologies like AI. I think some of the explosions or confrontations that we see are often in reaction to the threat of not instantaneous but sudden introductions, in a very dramatic and disruptive fashion, of new technologies. The beginning of a debate, a societal debate or a public debate, that's inclusive and that brings in the various interests that you want to have involved in the conversation in order to have that social licence, I think, will help ameliorate the uncertainty and the lack of trust, and hopefully will diminish some of the confrontations we've seen around new technologies.

Committees of the House  I remember being on the phone with constituents who were telling me that they were calling their families at home and that in the background, they could hear the explosions. They were so worried about where their family members were and whether they were safe. There were conversations during which explosions would happen, and then the line would die. I have sat, as I hope many people in this place have, with people who are refugees from Ukraine and are so terrified because they do not even know when it is going to be safe to go home.
